I find that once I read a book I no longer feel a need to revisit it. In His Footsteps is an exception to that. I turn to it often when I need a pick me up or just a good laugh. As I am reading it, I always feel enlightened as the author puts things in a way that makes me feel that "I can do this!". It is heartwarming, funny and serious all at the same time. She can admit to her weaknesses and show how you can "simply" follow God to be happy daily. I find strength in her stories of struggle and hope in her desire to be humble. And for me the greatest part is her wit that is never failing through it all.

I highly recommend this book to all who need a moment to feel inspired and entertained.

First book I've read on my new tablet. Loved it. I got an email that it was a free download . I love free so I got it. With in a few pages I knew it was just the book I needed to read in such a time as this.:) Short, sweet and many good to-the-point topics.:)

I thought that this book would be a testimony that would inspire me. However, I see very little scripture in this book, and lots of 'insights' that she got from God. The only problem is, which god did she get it from. Like the one insight that she would die before June 20 this year. Ridiculous nonsense.

Ms. Agard writes honestly about her experiences, and seems genuinely intent on helping others lead more full-filling, God-focused lives. Unfortunately, her format and content don't quite pull off the intended goal. First, as other reviewers have mentioned, Ms. Agard is LDS, though this is never clearly stated in the book. As a result, the book is full of terminology and facts that come across as rather odd because the reader lacks the context to make sense of them, such as the "Sister" this and "Brother" that for everyone, the missions/missionary references, and the fact that their church owns a cannery.

The book lacks any kind of organizing themes, often seeming to be little more than the author's short journal snippets for the day. That's not inherently bad, except that the constant topic jumping and seemingly random material in the entries does little to enlighten the reader to the supposed point of the book. While she certainly makes her point about focusing less on ourselves and our assumptions and more on serving others and looking to God in all things, about 90% of the book does not appear to have much to do with, let alone support, this theme.

My only other comment is that if you read this, please do so with a grain of salt. There were several parts that set off alarm bells in my head. For example, after she explained to her husband that part of her privileges as the wife was to decorate as she saw fit and proceeded to do just that, despite his admonition that she not use certain things or put holes in the wall, I was expecting some kind of lesson or glance at the Bible verses about respecting one's husband and a reversal of that attitude, but neither came. Also, it is not my place to suggest what God would or would not say to someone, but I found it entirely out of character for the God of the Bible to tell a woman that if she took a particular job rather than stay home and focus on ministry with her husband, he would simply kill her and send her husband a "new helpmeet who would actually be a help to him"!!

Overall, I did not get anything out of this book beyond a generic reminder to be more loving, look more frequently for opportunities to serve, and to pray a lot. All messages I could have gotten more effectively and enjoyably elsewhere.

I read the book In his Foot Steps, From the time I picked it up and started reading I found it very hard to put down. I was always anxious to see what was happening the next day and how she always asked God to show and lead her in what she was to do, and how to handle each situation..I wish I had the same kind of relationship with God that she does.
