Reseña del editor

At age 72, irrepressible rhymes began popping into Izzy’s head. Before she could stop herself, they evolved into a memoir. As a singer in the iconic 60s, then birthing her first child at 46, her life has not been dull. Here, in verse, is her journey…

I read the book last night from cover to cover, completely immersed in it and unable to put it down, as the free flowing verse carried me through a life's spiritual journey. The delightfully chosen words are a poignant and yet buoyant expression of a life well lived. Her candid insight creates a rich tapestry, interweaving the crass with the sublime. Her resilience in the face of sorrow steels the heart, her humor when dealing with poverty and hardship, envelopes the soul with warmth. Deep compassion for humanity, and her passionate commitment to motherhood shine through as an expression of divine love. Nilima Krishna Jayaraman

Even if you're not a fan of poetry, you're going to love this little gem of a book. It offers such heartfelt emotion about the author's life with her triumphs and foibles. The book will make you smile a little, cry a bit, and think about your own life a lot. From a shaky childhood through her dedication to human rights and on to a brilliant career as a vocalist performing with artists whose names you'll recognize, to a late introduction to motherhood and her approaching senior years, Izzy shares the wisdom she has garnered. This book would make a wonderful gift for any adult. Five plus stars to you Izzy Hunter!

Follows the life of Isolde Hunter from birth and childhood in New York City in 30's and 40's to a singing career, which took her around the world, leading to interactions with Harry Belafonte and Frank Sinatra, to her 70's in Florida. At times light, at times heavy, but always honest; you won't want to put it down.

My husband surprised me with this book for Christmas! Izzy's joie de vivre resounds from the first page to the last. She has led a fascinating life and her poems attest to the lessons she's absorbed along the way. Her love for her son, her appreciation for her experiences- good or bad, and for her individual journey, is uplifting. The photographs are especially fun. Highly recommended.
