5.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas An excellent cabinet and quality speaker for this price equals a heck of a bargain. 7 de noviembre de 2015

I ordered this cabinet on Nov. 5 and was using it two days later (today). What a great deal!. I did not buy the amp head; I have two amps that will both drive a 16 ohm external load such as this. I have both a Four Force analog amp with 5 watts, and a Vox 4ACTV tube amp with four watts. Using the Vox, which has a Celestion speaker, I find the Kustom has a very similar sound (don't know who makes the speaker for them), but with more bass and better dynamic range. With the Four Force, it's not quite up to tube sound, but driving the Kustom speaker is a marked improvement over the Four Force speaker, enabling the amp's 'tube emulator' circuitry to sound more tube-like.

Even with a low-wattage amp driving this cabinet such as I am using, it nonetheless will put out more volume than most people could stand for long. It sounds beefy and full. I will be spending lots of time getting used to it using various effects and so forth, but right now it's like an early Christmas present to myself. Nicely built, looks good, works like a champ and at a bargain price. What's not to like?

One addition...I noticed after writing this review that there was a five year warranty. However, the warranty information sheet shows the effective date of that warranty to be Jan.1 2010, so be aware there is no warranty still in effect. It doesn't change my opinion at all, but thought it should be noted.

I own two of these cabs, using one for my Kustom The Defender 5H Class A Guitar Amp Head and one for my Kustom Defender 15 Watt Class A Guitar Head.

The cab sounds pretty good and is well matched to my heads, which is not surprising considering they are all made be the same manufacturer. I've been pleased with them, and especially pleased about getting decent quality 12" cabs at such bargain prices. I have heard my Kustom Defender 15 Watt Class A Guitar Head played through a Crate Blackheart BH112 Little Giant 1X12 Guitar Cabinet and must say that the Blackheart is a vastly superior cabinet that I am considering getting.

Despite my fondness for the Blackheart cab, you truly cannot go wrong this Kustom 1x12, and pound for pound it is an exceptional bargain - and it does sound pretty darn good.

I bought this to pair with my Micro Terror based on it's price and decent reviews. I must say, although I have only had it a day, I am quite impressed. When I found the MT it was paired with the 8" PPC108 cab, and while it sounds good, it is lacking in bottom end. I knew I wanted a 12", and after looking around, decided on the Defender (since I also had my eye on an LTD M17 7string!) Straight out of the box, my son and I fired it up and wow, it really brought the MT to life. It was originally sitting in the middle of the room with decent sound projection and response. When I placed it near the wall however, it added much more depth to this open back cabinet. At some point I may close the back up and see what that does, but for now I am quite satisfied. While it probably will not compete with a lot of the high end gear out there today as far a durability, I am thinking so far this is a great value; specially for a hobbyist like me. At some point I may change out the speaker, which I have read can be an issue due to the mounting pattern, but we will see how it sounds after breaking in. For the price of a speaker alone this works great with my little low wattage head, with plenty of volume to be heard. I found myself amazed at the definition it brought out between my 2 main guitars. Swapping between an ESP/ LTD PB401 and a Cort KX1Q I could immediately hear the much fuller darker tone the PB produced while the KX1Q's EMG HZ pickups are much more alive. I would definitely recommend this cab for someone looking for a budget minded 12" cab in a home setting. Thanks Kustom!

I have had this speaker for about a month. This extension speaker cabinet was designed for the matching 16 ohm Kustom tube amplifier head. Others amp owners beware because if your amp is an 8 ohm output there will be a mismatched impedance. Fortunately for me, my Ampeg 5 watt tube amp Head can match up with this 16 ohm speaker. The primary reason I bought it was that the matching cabinet for my Ampeg has been discontinued and the one I did find available was twice the price of this Kustom. This is a great sounding speaker. One thing that all the descriptions leave out is what kind of back it has. So let me tell you it comes with a 1/3 open back in the middle and a nice recessed input jack in the top 1/3 section. The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 star is the speaker grill cloth on my unit is a tad wavy at the bottom when looking down from the top. Looking at it straight on it doesn't show as much but even cheap speakers and amps don't have this flaw. It probably is only on a few of cabinets made and has no bearing on the sound but Quality Control should of caught this. It does appear to be a strong well made cabinet with nice chrome corners and worthy handle. The unit is front to back deep enough to avoid tip overs when a heavy tube amp head is placed on top. The 12 inch speaker kicks out both warm and chunky sounds depending on my amp settings. For practice, recording or small gigs you can't go wrong with this speaker cabinet.

OMG! I am another one of those old dudes getting back into guitar after leaving it 40 years ago. I know huh? longer than a lot of you have been alive I was without an axe. I had a Kustom head and stack in the early seventies, blue vinyl tuck and roll thing cool as hell, I missed it and my Coral Firefly and Chet Atkins Country Gentleman. boy what I wouldn't give ;) Anyway... This not too little cabinet with the 5H 5 watt defender head is just a blast. It crunches and rings and chimes and everything in between. I love it, love the price and I think it was a terrific value. For the kind of stuff that I like and play it's a perfect fit. I will gig with this especially small venues and out of doors on patios etc. Makes my tele sound huge, incredible treble ear bite if you want makes my Epi Riviera sound like a million bucks, it's crunchy as hell with my Gretsch Electromatic with the filtertronic pups and I try out and use all of my effects with it cause it's a tube amp and has unlimited signal path fun potential, and guess what I can mic it if I want too.
