I recently purchase this slider from Konova. It came straight from Korea. It only took them 4 days to get it to me! Very impressive shipping! The slider itself came with a nice zipped up case and inside it even has two extra cases for the legs of the slider. Its a very nicely made slider. Coming from owning a previous Indisystem Slider and also a Motion Slider 36 I am loving this slider and finding myself using the Konova slider more often in my production projects. This is of course a ball bearing slider so keep in mind that it will need to be cleaned out and oiled from time to time. There is a lock where the sliding mount is place so that your camera doesn't slide without you moving so. The material of this slider is highly made with good metal & aluminum. The red adds a unique and elegant touch to the product. I opt for the 39 inch one because all my other slider range from 31-36 inches. I didn't want a slider too long where I would have to carry two tripods just to keep the slider from balancing. The 39 inch fits perfectly on my fluid head video tripod without needing an extra tripod. I use a Canon 60D & sometimes my Canon 5D Mark II as well. The lens that i use with this slider is either a Sigma 14mm or the Tokina 11-16mm f2.8. Along with the lens i sometime put a Rode Video Mic. Besides that I also use the Monfrotto Joystick to do up & down sliding movements. I also bought a Manfrotto quick release plate to put on the bottom of the slider so it can mount easily onto my tripod without having to go through and re-screwing everything back on. The price is decent in my opinion for a great slider. Alot of professional slider cost in the thousands. This one is under $ 500. If you're on a strict budget then you might want to look into getting this cheaper K3 series. The difference from the K5 and the K3 is that the K5 uses bigger bearings and also support more weight. Nothing too big. But if you're planning to add more weight then i would invest in the K5. I highly recommend this slider to anyone who want better production quality in their video!

It's so refreshing to open a box with some mysterious new equipment inside and just experience waves of delight in discovering all the aspects of quality that have been built into it. Within 10 minutes this became pretty much my favorite piece of gear. From the mm/cm tic marks to the bubble levels on each end to the beautifully designed, easily removable all terrain feet (that are rubbery textured so they don't slide on a table) to the smooth, predictable glide track...the nice bag, the red metal fittings that PERFECTLY match the accents on my Manfrotto head, the included tools to adjust drag tension (I liked mine just as it came out of the box, though)...it's just great. And I'm using this with a C100, considerably heavier than a DSLR. Though it's equally good with my 60D.

Niggles: I kind of wish there were more mounting holes, but there are enough. My biggest, perhaps only peeve is that the placement of the 3/8" holes on either end are too close to the end blocks, so the Manfrotto quick release plate doesn't work there. The neighboring 1/4" one will work but then the plate BARELY fits into the tripod head. I may shave a bit of plastic off the bottom of the block. But this is really no big deal.

I recently ordered and immediately sent back a Chinese slider that will remain nameless that cost about $150 less. I seldom cheap out on things like this but I thought, well, the reviews are ok, let's just see. I could not believe the difference in quality, there is not a sufficient metaphor that will work. This thing rocks.

I bought the K2 first and it was great. It slided nice and smooth for a video shoot. But the next day it was bumpy at the same two spots over and over. I couldn't clean it enough and figured something was wrong with the track. May be dirt that scratched it as I was sliding the precious day. I don't know. I sent it back. Then I bought the K5. It's much heavier and sits better on a single tripod. If you are using two tripods all you need is the K2. If you're planning on going the motion control route then get the K5 because is already set and ready for all those motion control accessories.

This slider is incredibly smooth and for the money, you really get a great product.
The only con is this: The ball bearing design allows dirt to easily get trapped in between the bearing and the slider bars, making for an occasional bump. I keep a rag and a small can of compressed air with me to clean my slider with every time before my shoot. But for just over $500, you can expect the world. Also, the feet that come with it are so super nice...very helpful. Unlike Kessler, you don't have to pay extra for them. Also it comes with a nice bag to tote the product around in...great for the traveling shooter.
I love this thing.

The first one I got was damaged, but I was able to return it and get a good one. It is very smooth, but it takes some practice to be able to find good applications for it. Because it is so smooth it is difficult to make a steady slide. Don't think that the tension knob is going to help add drag, it doesn't really help. The tension knob is really only good for locking the slide in place. Also don't think changing the adjustment in the bearing system is going to help create more drag. It will only make the slide feel more rough. When adjusted right it is smooth as butter, but this can make things difficult. Overall, good quality though.
