The PRO3AA Titanium sound incredible. I have had Audio Technica, Gemini (yuk), Sony and others. The 3AA sound much better with better bass definition. Part of the good sound is a good fit (pressure) on your ear. This pressure is mostly provided by the shape of the plastic head band. This head band has predictably cracked on 2 PRO3AA I have had. At this point, it renders the sound quality useless. I JB weld the first pair and, apart from looking pretty ugly, you can't adjust the length anymore (on mine) due to the position of the cracks. Also, seems to last just a little while and then it will re-crack.
It is a shame these great sounding headphones are prone to this failure. These are the only good-to-great-sounding headphones I've had to throw away. The rest I still have.
Hope this helps your decision.
I had some Phillips Cityscapes. I liked them too until I noticed that after 2 weeks, there was a loose piece of material in ear pads. That constant rattle sent me back to Best Buy to return them too.
I really wanted another pair of headphones and I was hesitant to go back to Best Buy to purchase another pair. Nothing worse than having your product malfunction after Best Buy's return policy expires. I really did not want to buy an extended warranty for headphones.
I was reading CNET whose review of the Koss 3AA was very favorable. Their review and Koss's limited lifetime warranty resulted in buying a pair. I was not disappointed at all. I've had them for about two weeks so far and I just love them. The amount of bass and high end are just fantastic. Just the right balance for me.
If you're looking for a great pair of headphones, combined with a great warranty, look no further than Koss.
Review update: After nearly 1.5 years of use, my headphones are sounding as great as they did when I first bought them. My son was so impressed by the sound that I gave him my pair and I bought another pair from Amazon Unlike some of the other reviews listed here, my headphones have not had any manufacturing problems or any defects due to bad workmanship. After two years of heavy use, I would heartily recommend these headphones to anyone.
I'd have to say I'm disappointed with the purchase and this will definitely discourage me from buying any other type of Koss headphones in the future.
I didn't want to spent $65 or more on headphones, and for the money I feel like I made a good decision, these have impressive bass, sound good through all frequencies, fit well and are comfortable to wear for over an hour at a time.
I can't say anything bad about the headphones, and they are a huge improvement from stock headphones and those looking for something a little better without stepping into the more expensive categories of headphones.
