In this case, Power Girl originally made us skeptical. Not because she is...umm...rather well endowed. If that was our worry, we'd never have gotten Catwoman, who I personally get a bit embarrassed by having friends see when they come over, but my wife thinks is funny and cheeky. No, we were worried, because frankly, her base is non-existent compared to some of the elaborate setups of her counterparts. Even her younger alternate-reality version Supergirl is poised on one foot on a cloud with her cat side-kick. But the truth is, it doesn't matter in this case. The base feels RIGHT for her. It's a bit of a glamory metal, which is something I never thought I'd say. No really. Rather than her up flying, it's just her posed confident and strong. It really shows the character's personality well, and that's one of the reasons it's amazing!
The sculpt on this thing...is gorgeous. She's strong looking, yet she's not done so in a cheesy way. Her legs in particular stand out, because they are just amazingly sculpted in detail. Other than that, the details really make this figure. I like the thick lined ribbing on the outfit that makes it feel more substantial. It's very simple and glossy compared to some figures, but overall it feels like it comes right off the comic paper. The toning on the skin is perfectly blended as usual. The cape feels just the right flow to it, and honestly is arranged great to make this figure stand out when standing on a shelf.
Overall, it's a quality figure, and one of the best Kotobukiya faces yet. What's surprising to me, her overly-endowed "assets" aren't as silly to me on her as they did on Wonder Woman. With Wonder Woman, she looks amazing, except she needs to be placed above eye level to not look odd. (In my opinion) Her chest was designed as large as Power Girl's is here (which is pure fan-service, unlike this being more true to the character), but more importantly felt like they should be falling out of the suit. I swear with Wonder Woman, even now, if I see her below eye level, her chest is so glaringly awkward, it's the ONLY thing of her I can see. Power Girl isn't this way. It's hard not to notice her chest of course, but I quickly forgot about it. They treated it pretty classy, honestly. (For a character known for it.) You feel that her strength and personality were more important to them in making this figure, and that's a huge plus!
Very well-sculpted, I love the way her cape flows, very dynamic. I don't know why her hair floats the opposite way compared to the cape, but I guess it's better that way. The colours have really nice contrast here, Supergirl bishoujo disappointed me a bit because of her dull colours, but this statue turned out to be much better, richer in term of colour choices. My favourite bit has to be her youthful, playful face. She has a nice body shape, strong and muscular, but feminine in her own way.
