4.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Comfortable and as portable as a bag chair. 28 de enero de 2013

I will not purchase another bag chair after trying this chair out for about 3 months now. Yes it is a little long when closed up but it is lighter than most bag chairs, easier to set up and take down, far more comfortable, and the construction is far superior to any bag chair I have owned. It is well worth the price. I use it as a spare chair in the house for when we have lots of people over and I take it with me to places I would have taken a bag chair in the past.

This chair is very akward. It is to big to carry, not like your typical camp chair that folds easy and slips into a bag and probably weighs less then this thing. I am 6' 200lbs and the back of this chair ending just above the back of my neck-not comfortable to lay my head back. It weighs over 6 lbs. I did however purchase two the Lafuma micro pop up chairs and they rock!!! Very light and small yet comfy - check them out!

4.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Stylish; light weight; fold compactly; stable. 30 de junio de 2012
Por GAT - Publicado en Amazon.com
I recently purchased two Lafuma Maxi Pop Up Chair and one Lafuma Micro Pop Up Chair chairs. My intention was to use them as beach chairs. Here are my impressions of both types of:
1. The Lafuma Maxi's are not backpackers' chairs. If you want that type I'd suggest the Alite Designs Monarch Butterfly Chair (which has only 2 legs) or the Alite Designs Mantis Chair (Beach Print) (which has 4). These are much lighter and fold up much more compactly than the Lafuma's, although to my eye they do not look as stable and put your fanny closer to the ground. I'm sure there are many other good brands for backpacking.
The Lafuma Micro could be used for backpacking, but is a pretty big bundle for most backbackers, I would think. Honestly I probably won't use the Micro much. It might be fun for kids, or maybe I could get my dog to curl up and sleep in it. Really.
2. The Lafuma Maxi's are very nice but are not really patio style lounge chairs either, although certainly they can be used that way in a pinch. They are lower than most lounge chairs and lack arm rests or cup holders (not to mention umbrellas).
Getting in and out of the Lafuma Maxi's is a little more of a challenge than with typically taller lounge chairs too. But much easier, I would think, than the even lower Alite's! None of these chairs are aimed at the elderly or the overweight.
3. Both Lafuma Maxi and Micro chairs fold up compactly into a cylindrical bundle held loosely together by a permanently attached strap and clip. This makes them easy to carry. Too bad they don't come with a stuff sack.
4. The Lafuma's frames seem strong and stable, and the sling-back styling of the Maxi chairs looks quite modern, in a retro/kitschy kind of way, than that of most beach chairs. Too bad Lafuma makes no matching tables or umbrellas.
The Micro is really too small to be described as stylish, but might look like fun and inviting to kids.
5. I already have 2 sets of Stathmore patio tables and chairs for normal every day use. They're very nice.
The Lafuma Maxi's are for the beach or for use at home when quick set up without having to move the larger patio lounge chairs around is more convenient. For those purposes they are great, and I do like the minimalist casual modern look.
6. Lastly:
a. Lafuma is a brand with a very good reputation. Their recliners are particularly good, and replacement parts are available for some models. Maybe check out their website.
b. Lafuma's website at 6-28-2012 shows only the Micro chair, and not the Maxi. Perhaps the Maxi's are being discontinued.

5.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Best portable chair on the market 6 de junio de 2012

I have three of these chairs. I have had them for at least 15 years. They are still going strong. I find them very comfortable for sitting and reading at the beach or where ever. I can even take a nap in them. I am 6'1" 240# and I fit. I have had the more traditional heavy steel folding chairs and have thrown them all out. I have taken these on canoe trips and short backpacking trips. I take these everywhere. These chairs have held up well with no need for repair. The only draw back is the comfortable sitting angle makes them slightly awkward to get out of.
These chairs are well worth the money!
