Descripción del producto

The lost album entitled LEND US A QUID has achieved legendary status with the passing of time and has become THE holy grail amongst Marriott, nigh Rock music, aficionados worldwide. An essential addition to anybody's record collection. The original recordings rejected by A&M in the mid seventies for a solo Steve Marriott album. At the time Humble Pie was at its height and the label wanted more Pie albums. Some of the last recordings to come from the famous Clearsound Studios owned by Steve. Many of the tracks on this album were produced by Rolling Stones manager Andrew Loog Oldham Features Alexis Korner on some tracks. Bonus disc of an unreleased live concert from 1983.

Artista biografía

In 1971, after the first of 23 US tours, Steve was at long last financially viable (when the Small Faces broke up in 1969 after 12 hit singles and 3 hit albums he was broke, courtesy of manager Don Arden). His ultimate dream was to own his own recording studio and that he set about doing. He converted a large coach house in his back garden into the Clear Sounds Studio and it was there, along with the very best and very latest recording technology, that he made his home. His wife, Jenny, was quoted as saying that was the beginning of the end of their relationship as she didn't see him anymore! He loved nothing more than making music and over the next four years most of Humble Pie's output was recorded there. Unfortunately it didn't last long and by 1976 he was forced, by the taxman, to sell up but before he did he used the studio to record his last album under the production guidance of Immediate Records main man Andrew Loog Oldham. This collection, as good as it was, was never released. A 1968 Small Faces hit Itchycoo Park had been re-released and had unexpectedly charted and a Small Faces re-union was beckoning.
