The book is structured is short, entertaining and easy to digest chapters followed by thoughtful "Career Comforts"- enouraging and supportive meditations that can help to ease some of the natural uneasiness we all feel when contemplating job change. Additionally, there are well crafted exercises after many chapters that are intended to help job seekers move past self-imposed limitations. I really appreciated that the authors do not push the reader toward immediate action. Rather, they offer thoughtful opportunities for the reader to advance at their own pace toward job change or not. Beyond the job seeking aspect, this book has some great advice that is valuable to any working person-- for example, chapters 'Negatives Attract', 'Stop Hating Your Job', 'Prosperity is More Than Money.'
In summary, this is a great book for job seekers who know that they don't have all the answers (and can't find them at a free job seminar) and want to embark on a personal journey of discovery. Readers will get so much more out of this book than a new job!
I can honestly say that I feel better equipped to succeed going forward and that I have already started applying many of these lessons in my personal career. The book helped me assess what I really want from a job and how to achieve career satisfaction. This is a must read for any professional considering a career change!
