Críticas

Style meets substance in these chic and soothing bowfuls. (Mail on Sunday)

Soup is just the thing at this time of year: comforting yet light and healthy - and it's cheap and easy to make.
Nicole Pisani and Kate Adams have joined forces to provide a collection of knock-out soups. There are broths, chowders and dhals; hot and cold soups; vegetarian, meaty and fishy bowls. Truly a soup for every season.

(BBC Good Food magazine)

This book is a celebration of food that looks as good as it tastes.

The yam and coconut soup is the colour of a sunburst, and the nettle soup with flowers looks like it came from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.

There are stocks, quick fixes - like roasted cherry tomato soup with salsa and flatbread and a vivid emerald-green watercress soup with crab toast - and bowls of broth from around the world.

(Eithne Farry The Simple Things)

The title of this book is enticing and you won't be disappointed once you open the pages. Nicole Pisani and Kate Adams turn soup into a magical experience. Every soup you can think of is included, hot, cold, thick, thin... it's a one-stop soup shop. You won't need another recipe book if you own this one. (Choice)

Reseña del editor

There is something about soup that has both the ability to revitalise and to soothe. They are packed with nutrition and offer variety, deliciousness and comfort as well as being a fantastic aid for weight-loss. Soup's versatility and health benefits are captured in MAGIC SOUP.

Whether it's swapping a stale sandwich at lunchtime for a vibrant bowl full of grains and greens, or relaxing at home over a velvety blend of manuka-honeyed parsnip, cooking for a supper party or nursing a cold - there is always an occasion for soup. MAGIC SOUP features over 100 innovative recipes helping you to feel fuller and become healthier. Recipes such as salmon poached in lemongrass tea, lemon chicken and mint with quinoa, and the ultimate 'chicken soup for the soul' will redefine people's expectations and put paid to the myth that soup cannot be a hearty meal in itself.

Nicole Pisani and Kate Adams have all the credentials to create recipes that are utterly delicious and in line with a balanced way of eating.

I'm frankly surprised this little treasure of a cookbook doesn't have a ton of reviews already. The photography and food styling is gorgeous, the recipes are simple to make and come together quickly, and the dishes themselves taste fantastic. Anyone who is interested in incorporating more soup into their lives should buy this book immediately. Even if you aren't a huge soup lover, there's something in here for everyone. I don't particularly love soup, but I've bookmarked over half the recipes to make asap.

Almost every recipe comes with a photo, so you can see at a glance whether the soup is something you might like to eat. While the food styling is stunning, the recipes are not complicated, the instructions are clear and concise, and the end product is completely achievable by a home cook using minimal equipment.

The book is organized into sections like cleansing, comfort, quick fixes, and old wive's tales, which makes it easy to find a soup that suits the occasion. I've been trying to eat better after baking a few too many cakes recently, and I've been really pleased with how satisfying yet healthy the recipes in Magic Soup are. There is a huge amount of variety within these 100 recipes, with plenty of options for any season and most dietary regimes.

So far, I've made the Greens & Grains soup and the titular Magic Soup. The former takes less than 20 minutes to make, while the later under an hour. Both use ingredients I already had in my pantry/fridge, and are easily adaptable if you don't have exactly what is called for. Both soups were delicious, and I love the greens and grains soup so much I'll probably eat it several times a week for many weeks to come. It's so simple and easy I can manage to make it while half-dead and starving after work, and it's also full of veggies, healthy grains, and lots of flavor.
