Reseña del editor
It's the best drum lesson anyone could take. Primitive drums, Irish drums, Latin drums, drums from the Middle East and India: whether they're framed, staved, carved, or clay, the basics for making every one of them is here, provided by a master of the style. Photos colourfully display the culturally diverse drums and construction techniques in an easy-to-follow fashion, from choosing and attaching a drumhead to dealing with tacks, staples, and pegs; from learning lacing logistics and knot-tying to working with hoops and adjustable hardware.

Having built some percussion instruments, I found the information in "Making Drums" to be enlightening for a beginner about to make his or her very first instrument. It won't really tell them HOW to make their first drum, but it'll spark their curiosity, and define the myriad drum types from across the globe.
Second - If you think you're going to open this book at your workbench and make a drum, step-by-step, look elsewhere. The author has done a lot of research, but seems to know more about drum construction, than constructing a drum.
The photography and illustrations in the book are excellent. The background information on different types of instruments is interesting, and the technical information provides a good understanding of acoustics.
Great book in the hands of a hopeful drum building enthusiast.
Reviews of this book were really good. So I decided to bought a hard copy of this book about building instruments.
I have gave 5 stars mark to this book, 'cos it's really informative as I expect.
This book is very clear and easy to follow. Pictures included are better than most books I could find.
Anyway this book is a good choice.
