We have a white fold out table that holds 3 of our computers, the mousepads were always bumping into the adjacent keyboard
When I learned of the this technology I came right to Amazon and bought these mouse's (not mice) :D
They work flawlessly without a mousepad, it's what I recommend to everyone!!
The problem I have with the mouse is for gaming. Because the two buttons are from the same single molded piece of plastic, sometimes when I was clearly clicking and holding the left mouse button down, the right mouse button would sporadically activate. You might not notice this too often in business applications, but in gaming it's a matter of life and death.
As an office mouse, hey, it's as good as any other mouse. The mouse wheel is fluid, unlike some mice that have rigid wheels. The noise made from clicking the buttons is average, what you'd expect a mouse to sound like (not quiet, not noisy).
For gaming applications, I suggest finding a mouse that has two buttons made from separate pieces of plastic that are also separated from the top of the mouse body. They, unfortunately, are increasingly hard to find.
