HASH(0xa35bf078) de un máximo de 5 estrellas EVEN THOUGH YOU CAN'T DANCE TO CUBAN MUSIC 28 de febrero de 2001

The pieces that this CD includes make you dance to the music even though you cant dance salsa, even though you are extremely shy. Just turn on the player and play the disc as loud as you can.
Immediately you'll be overwhelmed by a rapid stream of sounds; intricate melodies played by brass instruments, the rhythms of cangas and drums that require a high degree of concentration to dance to, the rhythm of the base guitar that frequently syncopates, the lyricism of the piano, and sweet voices of the choir.
If you have listened to the works of recent cuban bands such as NG La Banda or Paulito FG or Bamboleo and like them, I strongly recommend this CD.

The first 3 Klimax CDs are essential to anyone who cares about music. "Musician's music" that is, as leader Giraldo Piloto calls it. By all means by this album and don't stop there. "Juego de Manos" has probably the most "out there" cuts of all and "Oye Como Va" is just a masterpiece without anything on the planet to touch it!

Piloto used to be a part of the great NG La Banda and truly all the NG of that period (and a good deal of the post Piloto NG) is just the same: essential timba, NG is really more or less the birth of Timba and in some ways the most awe inspiring Timba band of them all when you think how each successive CD seemed to be starting all over again creating entirely new styles.

And don't forget Charanga Habanera (especially "Tremendo Delirio"), Paulito y su Elite (Tu No Me Calculas, Dance and Romance), Carlos Manuel y su Clan (Malo Cantidad, 'namorado), Chispa y sus Complices, La Farandula, Bamboleo (of course, but forget about the "Ño" disc)...

Caution: you might stop listening to everything else you hold dear.
