1.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas FAKE PEN 3 de enero de 2014

I recently brought this pen. I though it was original. When I get it everything looks good to me. The box, the manual the ink. But latter I discover the pen was fake. It is a good copy but there is a detail they forgot. On the clip it should say the word "pixie" and the wrote made in germany. I took it to a mont blanc store and you can feel the difference, and also you can feel it. It is much heavier and the shape of the cap it is different. I brought it because I though it was a good deal but I just lost all of my money :(. I do not recommend to buy this pen or any here.

1.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Wasn't able to authenticate the pen I purchased 4 de noviembre de 2013

I purchased this pen as a gift for my husband and when it arrived it looked really good. I looked online to try to authenticate the pen as a real Mont Blanc pen. The positives: The pen I received passed many of the "tests" such as the red hue upon shining a flashlight through the barrel. It also had a serial number on the band. The pen also felt really good as far as weight and the ink flowed nicely. The instruction manual was of good quality and added to the credibility.
The questionable: the box was a bit "crunchy" when we opened it, the instruction manual was missing the last page which is the warranty and registration. Understandable since Mont Blanc doesn't back the pen. Also, the serial number on the pen did not match the serial number on the box and when we tried to register the pen on the Mont Blanc site it was unrecognized.
The pen was expensive enough from this vendor that we wanted to be absolutely sure it was authentic. I mean we reasoned that a fake would be worth $50 possible but we had spent much more so we took it to an authorized Mont Blanc dealer and asked them to tell us if it was real. They spent about 45 minutes with us and found many of the same things we had found but in addition to what we saw they found that under the clip of the pen was inscribed, "Made in Germany metal" and was missing the telltale word "PiX"
Their store version of the exact model had written, "Germany metal PIX".
The store manager then called a higher up from Mont Blanc and was told that he had never seen a pen of this model that didn't say pix and never saw one that said "Made in Germany". It was enough doubt that we returned the pen purchased from this merchant.
All in all it was a nice quality pen and it is possible that the pen was authentic and the clip was an after-market add-on but given that it isn't covered under a warranty with Mont Blanc and you won't have free engraving it may be worth the peace of mind to spend the difference at the Mont Blanc dealer.

Updated 08/23/2016:
While I'm not deducting any stars from this review (I do love the pen), I do want to update this review for questionable selling ethics. I bought directly from Amazon vs. a third party reseller because I thought I could trust Amazon. Nowhere did it state that the pen was a gray market item. I was not able to register the pen with Montblanc, they informed me that is not an authorized reseller. They informed that the pen could even be a fake or gray market item. I did contact Amazon though and was informed that the pen is authentic, but I had no warranty and could return it within 30 days of purchase if I'd like, suggestive of a gray market product. I'm in a bit of a dilemma as I really do like the pen and I believe it to be authentic but the non-disclosure left a bad taste.
I'll start off by saying I am a fountain pen enthusiast. I bought this pen to add a little variety to my collection. I ordered directly from Amazon, the first one came with scratches, the replacement is perfect. I've had rollerball pens in the past and didn't care for them as even the best tends to skip on occasions. I am really enjoying this MB Fineliner so far. I am using it on Clairefontaine paper and it is a very smooth writer. The ink that is laid down is rich dark black. The fit and finish is superb. This pen is nothing like a fountain pen. Some reviewers talk about the 'springy' nib. It is springy in the sense that it springs back into the cartridge, it does not flex like a flexible nib on a fountain pen. I think this spring action is more for priming a dry nib with ink when the pen has been sitting around unused and to prevent heavy handed writers from splintering the fiber nib. The ink was thinly laid down when I first got the pen, but after a couple of sentences of writing, the ink began to flow wonderfully. I really can't say enough good things about this pen, really love it.

I purchased the pen and was very happy with it. About 1 year after the purchase the cap of the pen broke at opening. Looking at the material it was noted that the material was brittle as chunks of the material were flaking of the cap. I sent it to Montblanc for repair under warranty and they claimed that Amazon was not an authorized retailer therefore they would not honor the warranty even though it was well under the 2 year warranty they claim. The repair cost is more then half the price I originally payed for the pen and if I wanted back without repair they would charge me the also for the technician time. Therefore I ended up without a pen, and with a very negative image about Montblanc.

Ahem, I read lots of review about fake Mont Blanc and I start wondering myself. So I bought this pen brand new from Amazon LLC, not from a third party, and yet it's still fake.

It still say Made in Germany, and still missing the PIX inside the clip. Thought Amazon LLC does not sell fake pen, but I guess I was wrong. Time to return.
