The true me is here
23 de mayo de 2018 - Publicado en Amazon.com
This book is truly a book for women who are NOT a character out of a Jane Austen novel or any other books read in school. In this, I discovered that I truly am Lisa La Giuffria or a reincarnation of her. I remembered my experience with Douglas / the real Dale from Twin Peaks who didn't die, Abdul Bey / The real Shaggy Rogers, Cyril and the most unpigmented man of all time, Simon Iff, whose philosophy is automatically the only one possible in my current life now whether he liked me or not. Obviously, Douglas didn't really abuse his wife who never loved him and was an escort even after marriage, and Abdul / Shaggy never harmed a cat or ate dogs in his eternity, but it just goes to show that the original Black Lodge and White Lodge were separated by nothing but reputation and rumors, but were quite unified at the end. It was myself Lisa being forced to be given away to America AKA this dimension that got them all trapped in a loop. I became trapped on this side and couldn't get back. Also, the moonchild was not really inside me since it was made clear that Cyril didn't do anything with me and I was under 9 when this happened...no period yet. But, the life experience of Lisa has been my entire life, my entire eternity. I want US high schools to read this for the women like me! 😇 ---Jessica Lee Bennett since getting to this dimension

FASCINATING NOVEL, LOUSY EDITION
12 de mayo de 2018 - Publicado en Amazon.com
This is a fascinating book, interweaving an inventive fiction with generous dollops of Crowley's signature philosophy. I purchased this copy to replace a softcover edition I lost decades ago after loaning it out. While the original copy I owned was a standard octavo size, this reprint is the larger quarto size, which is fine, but it has one fatal flaw that would make the publisher flunk Publications 101: it has no page numbers. Trying to find a favorite passage, the start of a chapter, or anything else is impossible. Whoever heard of a book without pagination? I recommend the novel itself, even though the last portion becomes somewhat diffuse with the onset of World War I, but suggest you find a different edition.

Missed the boat on this one

One of those books that, if I cared enough to get it, would require a second reading. Aleister Crowley, a talented writer certainly, inhabits a parallel universe and does his best, it seems, to portray it, but it does not translate well into this one. Unfortunately, not driven to reread it right away, but I'll keep it around in case I want to try again sometime. I had hoped it would contribute to a research project I was working on otherwise, but that didn't happen. I fault my familiarity with his subject matter more than the author.

Homemade bootleg edition. Buyer beware.

This is some kind of cheap bootleg edition that someone printed on their computer. It’s the size of a magazine, and has a cheap, pixellated, super low res cover image. There isn’t even a publisher listed or any kind of credits or legal info. I am sending it back.
An early story like the Lord of the Rings

Interesting book. Sort of like an early version of Lord of the Rings. It's difficult to follow at times. In fact it's kind of convoluted in the middle when Crowley is explaining all of the magick themes/ culture. I'm sure he was intent on getting things accurate but it's just too much and is difficult to follow. I haven't finished yet but if I want to understand it better I will probably have to read it again.
