5.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Every once in a while a knife comes along that redefines what you expect a knife to be able to do. This is one of those knives. 2 de marzo de 2015

i have and use other Mora blades. The standard Companion and the Bushcraft Black have been two of my favorite knives since getting them. This knife has the same outstanding grip that the Bushcraft Black has which is a very good thing. It is extremely comfortable in a variety of different grips and the texture stays grippy even when wet, without being abrasive.

The 12c27 takes and holds a fantastic edge and is not hard to sharpen. The blade profile of this knife really makes it shine. It is thin, especially toward the tip and cuts wood with a precision that I didn't know I was capable of.

The combination of the amazing edge geometry and the superior handle have quickly made this not only my favorite Mora, but one of my favorite knives ever. If you want something for heavy chopping or batoning look elsewhere. If you want a knife that puts the "craft" into "bushcraft" look no further.

I have mixed emotions, but I still think it's a 5 star knife. The only thing is, Mora makes an $11 knife that I also own and I think that functionally they are not very far apart. Both are great imo and well worth the money, but if I was on a budget or really looking at the "bang for the buck" factor I'd be hard pressed to buy this knife over my $11 Mora. In fact, the only reason I got this one was because when I got the $11 one in the mail I was like "Dang! If they can do this for $11, what must that $30 knife be like?!". I expected a lot, and I got a lot, but I don't know if I could truthfully say that I think it's 3x the knife my other Mora is.

So, if I was to dock a star I feel it would be unfair, as they would simply be victims of their own success. This knife has been really great for me so far. I got exactly what I was hoping/expecting with regard to heft, quality, fit/finish, etc after reading the description and reviews; its all accurate. Just wanted to elaborate in hopes of helping others who might be on the fence or only have $11.

Great knife! I own several Moras, and I'm a great fan of the blades, not so much the wooden handles, & cheap sheaths. This one has a very comfortable handle, with a bit of a guard up front to protect my hand from the blade. I threw away the sheath & got a nice leather one from the pathfinder website
Great bang for the buck knife!

As everyone knows Mora has very good quality and inexpensive knives. I have bigger, more expensive knives and if I had to go out into the woods with just one this could very well be it. I am used to thicker blades and wish this was just maybe as thick as the "Companion heavy Duty" knife I also bought of theirs but am pretty comfortable that the quality of this will be good enough for it to hold up under any sensible uses.

I also have the Companion Heavy Duty and as said like the thickness of the blade better but it's not stainless. People often say that stainless is not good for such knives because it is softer but these days they can make high carbon stainless which is nearly as hard as non-stainless and face it, if it is harder it might keep the edge longer but that also means more work to resharpen.

Frankly for survival use, I'd rather have a knife with slightly softer steel (very slightly) that isn't going to rust. It's easier to resharpen than it is to find some oil to keep on your knife out in the wild.

Love the size, balance, and blade on this knife. It looks cheap but it's really well- constructed. Blade is thick and comes to a nice point. Didn't arrive as sharp as I would've liked but that's not the end of the world. The handle is amazing. Not sure the exact material used but it's comfortable and definitely will not slip out of your hands. Comes with a couple different, interchangeable belt clips. The first one you must thread your belt through before buckling while the other clips over the top so you can take the whole sheath off with your belt still clasped. I'm pretty happy with this purchase and happy I didn't spend $90+ on a different knife.
