I was blown away by the quality of the stabilizer. It's all metal parts and with a carbon fiber rod that makes it super light weight. The weights are sold metal pieces. The adjustments on the top plate are right on point and extend fully to each side left to right, right to left, front to back, back to front. The handle has a hole at the bottom that's the same size as a Glide Cam so it's easy to mount to a C-stand for balancing or a vest stabilizer. I mounted my 5DIII with a 24-105mm L lens.

I just ordered a quick release plate because its kind of a pain in the ass to screw the camera onto the cheese plate as its not removable, It lefts up from the back. It's not a huge deal as if it was removable it would still be a pain in the ass. I haven't received the quick release yet so I don't know how it will effect the balance but i'm sure it will be fine.

I read that someone said this is really hard to get stabilized or level. They obviously suck at life and don't know what they are doing. lol Yes, a stabilizer is not easy nor is it ready to go out of the box. Use a C-stand or a light stand, place the stabilizer on it and work magic stabilizing it.

What I did for my set up was extend the rod about ten inches, removed all plates besides two on each side. I did not extend the the wings. I set the camera all the way to the back of the cheese plate, with the adjustment nob at the lens of the camera. A few adjustments right to left and front to back I was good to go. I used the in camera level on the 5DIII to make sure I was good. There is no level on this stabilizer. Last test was the drop time and from top to bottom the camera had a drop time of 3 seconds. This was with the lens at 24mm and lens cap off. The cap does make a difference, so does the battery and memory card. Balance the camera with everything set up as if you are ready to shoot. If you zoom in or out on the lens you need to rebalance.

I was looking around for a stabilizer for my DSLR and maybe even to use with my C100. This seemed to fit the bill as I wade back into the lighter stabilizers. Years ago I had the original GC-1000 but sold it for the lack of adjustments it had but that's not the case with the Neewer 27". Not only was I pleasantly surprised that all of the problems that I read about seemed have been corrected with set screws, I am ELATED that the gimbal is height adjustable like my Glidecam V-16 sled! (BTW, that is probable the real reason they included an Allen wrench.) Not one review nor video pointed out this feature which is big when dealing with cameras on the heavier end of the capacity. Yes, I was able to balance a Canon C100 with its top handle and grip using an EF-S 18-55 lens but the rig (sled) is about 12lbs ready to fly. It's nice to know that a camera like that can be used but for an intense day of production, I would recommend getting a vest and arm to either go with this or take a look at the Steadicam Solo system if you plan to fly anything heavier than a basic DSLR.

My only nits are that there are no instructions and that I now need to get more foam for the case to recut the shape for my gimbal setup.

At first i was a little confused by all of those little nubs to turn.. but once i figured out what everything did i was on my way. The most difficult part is getting that balance correct; so i used a light stand to hold the stabilizer while i fiddled with the balance. One great feature about this stabilizer is the ability to adjust how low or high the handle is.. which would come in very handy if your camera is very heavy (over 7lbs) as it greatly reduces the amount of extra swing when the handle is placed a little higher than how it came.

The overall build quality is great and that carbon fiber look makes it pass as a more expensive piece of hardware.
Overall i would say it's a good buy! ..no problems yet.
oh.. and it also comes in a nice looking carry bag.

Only problem: The instruction CD was crushed and shattered on arrival. looks like they took no precautions when adding the disk to the package as it was found squished between the stabilizer and the foam.. instead of placing it safely on top of the foam.

I seen a few bad reviews of this item and was skeptical to purchase, however, the reviews that were good made me think twice! I received the rig today and took it out, all was assembled and already balanced when I picked it up. I put my DSLR on the rig and it took me less than 10 minutes to adjust everything and have it perfectly balanced. It has a very professional appeal to it! The make is solid, you don't feel like you purchased a cheap piece of film gear. The bag it came in and the white foam is the only thing that could give a cheap appeal from your purchase, but I just think for 120.00 they didn't have to throw the bag in. For the price and quality I don't think it can be beat! I will recommend anyone I know searching for one of these to look into this rig.

All of the pieces adjust easily, there was no manual that I found, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to steady this thing out when you put your camera on. There are Youtube videos on instructions others have posted if you need help.

I can't wait to take this to my next wedding to test it out in the field!
5.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Great stabilizer that rivals its more expensive counterparts, leaving you free to just shoot and have fun! 12 de junio de 2016

I was skeptical at first, as I have always used the brand name camera stabilizers (Steadicam / Glidecam). By used, I mean *rented*, mainly because they are so darn expensive to buy. When it came time to finally purchase my own stabilizer I did not want to spend a fortune one something, because I know out in the field you don't want to be worrying about how much you spend on the piece of equipment you are running around with! You just want to shoot!

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and functionality of this version. Sure: It's a direct copy off the Glidecam variants, but for the price I am happy to say it performs just as well as its counterparts. The Carbon Fiber components make it relatively light-weight, and it performs with a good range of DSLR cameras (I used with with a Canon D70s).

The handle also has the appropriate hole / hollow in it so that it should be compatible with most glide/steadi vest units.

Overall, it's a great unit for those who want to have stable shots, but don't want to have to worry about how much they spend and just get out in the field and shoot!
