Okay, pretty much everything else is written in the product description, but I felt that those few details were valuable to future buyers. Now to the review.
Initially, I was pretty skeptical about this light. Its a mass-produced, foreign-made product, that is being sold be a bunch of other vendors. Even more, the prices of this light varies dramatically depending on the vendor. On Amazon alone, you can find this light being sold by Fotodiox, ePhoto, Flashpoint, Fancierstudio, Vidpro, CowboyStudio, Polariod, iKan and more. All with different prices! iKan is charging near $400 for this exact same light!
So, is it worth the money? How does it perform? That depends on how much you paid for it. For a $119.95 312 LED, it performs extremely well. The light is extremely bright, easily transfers between color temps, easily dimmable with ZERO flicker for DSLRs, and can run by battery and power adapter. The whole Polaroid kit is nicely thought out and presented very well. My batteries have worked perfectly as well as my charger. The Swivel ball mount locks down tight and pairs well with the grip or a stand. And the light itself is also surprisingly well thought out, with a cold shoe on the top and and a 1/4" mounting thread on the bottom, allowing you to stack these light for even more power. (Though I would test the strength with any more than one additional light.) The bag is actually really useful and has areas for all of the accessories, even a separate area for the diffusion filter.
As negatives go, the build quality is low. I accidentally pulled one of the knobs off during the first shoot I used it at. (Right in front of the client! Ugh!) But all I had to do was stick it back on and carry on. No worries. The body is plastic, but that's understandable for a product this lightweight and small. Personally I would rather it came with a dc power adapter than the UK & EU adapter, but, again, it's an understandable compromise. There is a Universal DC Power Adapter available on Amazon that did the trick just fine.
All in all, I strongly recommend the Polariod version of this light, not only because it's one of the best prices, but also because of the solid accessories and well written instruction booklet. (Something that most other vendors don't have.)
In addition to the intensity of light the camera the color temperature can also be adjusted. The light can go from cool to warm and a few stops in between.
Battery life is excellent thanks to its large lithium ion battery. It also comes with a shoe mount adapter that provides an adjustable platform for the lamp.
Overall this is a very nicely priced light that will help better light your subjects out in the field (or in the studio). Highly recommended for folks on a shoe string budget but need a workable light for their projects.
1: It looses charge very quickly in the off position. Yes.. with the device turned off and a full battery don't expect the battery to have any life the next day. Somehow even when this light is turned off it still drains the battery.. only way to stop this from happening is to remove the battery everytime you plan on not using it for a few hours or more.. even after a few hours the battery will loose half its life when this thing is supposedly turned off.. not sure why there is even an off switch if it doesn't do stop the power draw.
2: The design was not engineered that we'll. It is made with thin unsupported plastic that will snap eventually if not careful. You definitely can not man handle this product as you will risk breaking the housing. I design product for a living and who ever engineered the mount on this housing is an idiot.. or they just don't give a f and wanted to make this a cheap as possible.. a metal housing would be worth the extra $20-30 to the end user imo..
Another thing I wish they came with an outlet power supply. They just have a battery charger and car charger. Why would they have a car plug instead of an outlet power supply is beyond me.
