My one gripe is that the knobs are very small, and when stuff is plugged into the inputs and headphone jacks they are in the way. That's the downside of such a small unit I suppose. It is the 'mobile' version, after all.
For those interested; the audio driver from presonus is multi-client (meaning it can handle audio streams from multiple apps like cubase, youtube, system, etc... all at the same time).
I am using this with a ti chipset on my firewire card.
What this product does is allow you to limit bleeding between recorded tracks. It also keeps the tracks from "lessoning" as you record multiple tracks. In other words it helps you to record a song that sounds more true and professional. It does not have limiter, gate, attack or other things you might find on other interfaces but if you are getting started it allows you to begin without a large learning curve.
You can plug a guitar directly into it. Or you can mike an instrument or voice through it. If you are using a microphone or plugging in an instrument without its own power drive you can press a button on the fron of this product and it will provide "phantom power." I hope this has helped.
Excellent build quality, No latency, Seamless with Garageband, Good software support. The Mic and instrument preamp is very good and provides enough boost that you never have to crank it up beyond 60%. It is neutral in characteristics.
It is very easy to use and sounds great. So far no problems at all. Studio One is easy enough to learn and while I'm not doing anything tricky at this point (importing old 4-tracks) it has plenty of typical "presets" to get you started with typical tasks you can modify to suit your needs while learning.
