5.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas GREAT WIRE!! 3 de enero de 2017

I usually don't mess with Pyle products just because they are made pretty cheap. I took a chance because of the price and figured that Amazon returns everything. It arrived on time thanks to Amazon's amazing 2 day shipping. The item arrived in a bubbled yellow envelope in very good condition. I am using this wire to connect a sound mixer to regular computer speakers for my home recording studio. The XLR ends go into the mixer and the 3.5mm head goes into a female to female 3.5mm adapter (purchased separately) that is plugged into the computer speaker 3.5mm male head that it comes with. It work great I can control my sound through the mixer. You can tell is a little cheap but it works great.

I ordered this adapter to connect my mixer to my line input on my laptop. (Not the best way to track, I know, but it was what I could afford at the time) The package came in a timely manner, in a small envelope rather than a bulky box, which I thought was pretty cool. Opening the package i found my adapter in a clear packaging from the manufacture and noticed a "extra screw" which I thought was weird because that's not typically something that comes standard with any xlr cable. I came to find out the screw had come loose in transit, which I'm assuming was the manufacture's fault because I examined the second xlr plug and while the screw was still in tact, it was also quite loose. After fixing the two issues, I plugged it in and all the connections were solid. been using the adapter ever since and have had no issues other than the one mentioned. For a cheap price you can expect something of the nature, but overall I'm left satisfied with the product.
1.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Two returns later and I'm still confused 4 de octubre de 2014

When I got my first one, it didn't work. I plugged it into multiple devices (two laptops, an iPhone) and it worked on zero out of three devices. I requested a replacement and when the new one arrived, it seemed like it would be okay. I plugged one of my microphones into it and tried to get it to work on my laptop. A TON of humming and noise in the recording. I went to plug another microphone into the other XLR unit and recognized the fact that there was a screw completely missing from one of the XLR inputs. The metal cover was loose and basically fell off. It took me 15 minutes to get my microphone off of this piece of junk. I sent the replacement back and got a refund.

Since I gave them two chances, I feel confident in saying that this item is complete garbage. The microphones were also Pyle-Pro brand, however so it's definitely not a mismatch issue. I ended up just buying a sound mixer.
3.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Decent cable, possibly bad wiring 18 de abril de 2014

I am using this cable to connect a microphone to my DSL camera's audio input. When I first tried to plug it in, it was horrible. The audio quality was just awful.

I found out this is because this cable shorts the - (pin 3) and the gnd (pin 1) of the XLR cables together. In my case, these were NOT the same. In fact, after probing the signals with an oscilloscope, it looks like in my case the + (pin 2) and gnd were connected, or at least similar reference. I ended up opening the the XLR connectors (easy with just one screw each) and rewiring it so that the ground wire of the 3.5mm audio jack connects to the - (pin 3) of the XLR connectors. I left gnd (pin 1) floating.

After rewiring the cable, the audio output is MUCH better and for a cheap cable it does what it should.

If you're not up to using a soldering iron to rewire your cable, you should make sure that shorting - to gnd won't cause you any trouble.

You need this if you shoot with a DSLR and have two hand held mics. I like the Rhode Reporter, and with this I can have 2 of them and each one ends up on its own audio channel which makes AGC and Editing easy.
