Pyle isn't exactly known for truthful specifications or high quality products so I had my reservations with this purchase. I'm happy to say that these speakers actually perform admirably. I bought them to use on my mountain bike powered by a Dayton DTA-1. They don't do anything under about 300Hz so don't expect the kick drum to thump or the Motown bass to groove. That comes with the territory though. What they do is put out a lot of useful volume with the ~10 watts per channel on the DTA-1. These are loud for a bicycle but too quiet for a motorcycle at speeds over 35-45 mph.
Unfortunately, Pyle didn't bother to include nuts for the large, disappointing mounting clamps. That only took a quick trip to a hardware store to remedy. As it turns out, the clamps are sized more towards motorcycles and scooters more than bicycles so it took me quite a bit of time and effort to get things happy and snug.
-Decent build quality
-Great volume for their size
-Cheapest handlebar speaker on market
-Price point is far too high for product
-Low quality mounting hardware
-No nuts included for mounting clamps
-Pain in the arse to mount to a bicycle
Performance gets 4/5 stars, hardware gets 2/5 stars, and price point gets 3/5 stars.
