1.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Rosle changed this torch a few years ago, is crap now 30 de diciembre de 2016
Por Frank K - Publicado en Amazon.com

I had originally bought this same model Rosle torch from a kitchen store several years ago and it was the absolute best hand torch I had ever used. The build quality of all the parts of the torch were impeccable and it never had problems igniting even after years of frequent usage.

More recently, I bought 2 of these torches from Amazon as gifts to friends only to discover that Rosle had either changed the design or switched manufacturers to a noticeably cheaper quality. The safety switch is poorly built and will fail easily, and the spark is not reliable after seasoned use. Do not buy this torch unless you can find the older version (not made in China)

2.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Buy the BonJour Crème Brûlée Chef's Professional Culinary Torch with Fuel Gauge Instead 18 de septiembre de 2015
Por Robert R. - Publicado en Amazon.com

I have two homes and own the BonJour Crème Brûlée Chef's Professional Culinary Torch with Fuel Gauge but bought the Rosle based on their reputation.

The Bonjour torch is infinitely superior, from the flame it produces to the safety lock, to the base -- everything.

I'm returning this one. I thought I'd give Rosle a try, but it's just awful compared to the Bonjour torch I already own, so I'm going to buy a second one of those. Now I know.

I especially hate the flimsy safety lock (that doesn't feel like it's going to last) compared to the sturdy and MUCH easier to use safety lock on the Bonjour unit.

My opinion of Rosle dropped a little based on this purchase. Even the white plastic snap on base is a cheap grade of plastic compared to the Bonjour unit.

2.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Amazing warranty, but mine is only *halfway* broken. 3 de enero de 2017

This thing never feels like it wants to be filled all the way, and it fails on at least half its ingnitions, so I have to sit there resetting the child lock and try to get it to work again. It has been like this since its second fill and has only seen very light use. Really wish I'd bought something cheaper if it's going to be like this.

4.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas not quite the "feel" you'd like from Rosle 16 de febrero de 2014

I have a whole lot of Rosle products - all feel pretty good in the hand and function well.

The plastic parts of this torch don't feel up to the usual Rosle standards.

The arm/fire device takes a bit of practice as you need to re-arm each time you want to strike a spark. (slow down pulling the trigger and it will likely light on the first go) unlike some other torches where you can pull the trigger several times until the flame catches.

There is a "lock on" latch - reasonably convenient to manage with one hand.

overall, better than some of the other kitchen torches I've used.

I use a torch all the time for releasing cakes which have to be chilled before turning out of a pan - a quick pass on the bottom of the pan melts butter but does not impact the cake - and for a variety of minor tasks which require a quick blast of heat.

If you use a torch rarely, save a lot of money by getting an inexpensive BernzOMatic shop torch and propane tank. You won't want to store it in the kitchen (too bulky) but it is just fine for occasional use - and if you need to solder some pipes, you're all set....

The kitchen torch is much more compact and handier to use in the kitchen. Worth buying if you will use it even once a month.

1.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Leaked gas and replacement had defective ignitor. 9 de mayo de 2017

This is not of the quality they claim. Maybe the old ones are good, but these new ones are cheap and fail.
My first one- all the gas leaked out of it in a few days. I went to use it a second time and there was no gas in it - after filling it with an entire bottle of butane.
Got it replaced and the new one had a broken igniter so I needed a second fire-starter to ignite the torch.
I returned them both. I won't be buying this again.
