Descripción del producto
Cartridge blades can cost an arm and a leg, but with the Razorpit Razor Blade Sharpener you can help them last a lot longer by keeping them sharp. Designed to act just like a traditional barbershop strop does with a straight razor, the Razorpit cleans and resurfaces the microscopic edge of your razor blades, leaving them sharp and smooth so you can enjoy a close, comfortable shave time and again. This version comes with a handy stand for your razor. Add a dollop of shave soap or gel to the Razorpit then, pressing firmly, slide the blades up the pit four times. Rinse clean.

I would say that I get 2-3 times the use out of a blade if I consistently wipe it down after each usage. The blue line of soothing agent is usually my measure for when it's time to replace a blade. With this rubber block that blue line will be long gone before I decide to replace the blade.
I'm a shower shaver only. I keep this block next to my razor's base above my shower tile. When shave I'll shoot a little shaving cream on the block, then on my fingers and apply it to my face. I'll heat the razor under the running water and then shave. Afterwards I rinse it and then run it backwards on the black 4-5 times. I'll rinse it again and blow it dry from the back and then the front side before putting it back on the stand. I always blow it dry. My blades never get a chance to rust. I then rinse the block and put it back up on the tile. Doing this, my blades tend to last noticeable longer than without the rubber block.
Make no mistake, this rubber block isn't magic. It just cleans the crap off the blade that would otherwise be stuck there and cause pitting and corrosion on the blade. That's what makes it feel dull far sooner than it should. Is it worth $18 (today's price?) Maybe, maybe not. I paid $25 for it when I bought mine. I can't say that I got my money back on the purchase but I have a sharp blade far more often than a dull one.
I shave 5-6 days a week and prior to the RazorPit would get about two weeks (10-12 shaves) out of a cartridge. Now after using the RazorPit I get about 2 months out of a cartridge (40-48 shaves). With the Fusion blades I use costing $4/each, that is a $80 yearly savings!
Even if your mileage varies a bit and you use different cartridges or get a few more/less shaves out of a cartridge, this item will still pay for itself in a few months time. It is kind of a no brainer; my wife even uses this to extend the life of and increase the comfort of her pink razors.
HINT: Use this thing from the first time you replace a cartridge; do not wait until your blade is feeling old because this product does not sharpen a dull blade, it will however help maintain a cartridge and keep it from feeling dull. This is one of the best product purchases I have ever made on Amazon.
UPDATE: This thing keeps impressing me. Still works as good 2+ years later. Still increasing the lifespan of my cartridges by ~400%.
