5.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Stands up to daily professional use 16 de mayo de 2016

I originally purchased this kit on Amazon in Dec. 2014 for use in my new position as a Computer Hardware technician repairing laptops and desktops on a daily basis. For the price, I wasn't expecting too much out of this kit and would have been happy if it had held up for 6 months. I've been incredibly surprised, however, at how well this kit has held up over time. I have dropped the (closed) cased many times and the only physical damage to show for it is a crack in the corner of the screw holder. All of the tools included have held up exceptionally well to what I would call fairly demanding use, with the possible exception of the tweezers which are low quality and probably my least used tool next to the IC chip tongs that I have never used...

To get the most out of the kit I started adding tools on day one, and now 1 1/2 years later I've added practically another tool kit inside of this case and can still get it closed and well organized. I also used a magnetizing block from Home Depot to magnetize the #0 Philips driver with the pocket clip. I highly recommend magnetizing at least a few of these tools, if you plan to work on laptops or in small cases. I've attached pictures so that you can see how much stuff I cram in this case day to day, I'll list out the extra items below:

Spudger tools for opening laptop/mobile device cases
Thermal Compound for replacing heatsinks
Box Cutter knife
Ink Pen
Size 00 Phillips with small spudger on reverse
Reversible Size 00 philips/flat driver
Torx #6 driver
3 USB flash drives with various troubleshooting tools, programs, windows install ISOs, etc...
Alcohol wipes for cleaning old thermal compound
Slimmed down pad of post it notes
Mini Needle nose pliers (I use these in place of the tweezers for almost everything)

All in all, this case has held up to everything I have thrown at it in the last year and I would be totally comfortable buying it again.

A lot of these kits are over burdened with tools that you will honestly never need. I've found this to be perfect not just for fixing PCs but also for fixing up electronics in general. The Soldering Iron is cheap and without a case.

The first time I used it it looked like it was going to burst into flames before it finally settled down, and somewhat annoyed no stand came with it. The rest of the products work great.

Since it was impossible for me to find an exact list of the products here you go:
Screw driver handle with various bits
soldering iron
needle nose pliers
wire cutter
small screw driver and bits (in the blue case)
Wide tongs
narrow nosed tongs
Allen Key set
Long narrow screw driver
razor knife
Cable Cutter/crimper
various hex socket wrench bits
grabber tool
dusting brush
and last but not least the most worthless flashlight you will ever see. Seriously, take the batteries out and put them in a good flashlight you buy yourself, then take this POS and use it to play fetch with your dog..

I think I missed a few, but they are just fluff pieces I haven't had to use.

The quality of the tools are strong and durable, and the only way they could be better is if 1 of the screw drivers was magnetized to help retrieve the screws, but not the end of the world.

This arrived today and I haven't had a chance to try them out, but they seem sturdy enough. One problem I had when looking at the description, pictures and other reviews is that I didn't know exactly what all was included and what else I would have to buy. Here's the scoop on the 45 Piece set:
I think some of those 45 pieces include screws, jumpers and washers. Not individual count, but one type equals one item.
There is no T-5 bit. Torx bits are 8, 10, 15, 20, 25.
Sockets go from 3/16 to 3/8.
Square bits include S0, S1, S2, S3.
All others+ are the standard bits you already have.
The anti-static wrist strap is big enough to fit my large wrists and isn't too tight. Also, the alligator clip is removable from the end of the wrist strap to reveal a ground plug prong.
The ratcheting screwdriver seems to be very good quality. I figured it would be like the ones you get in a cheap dollar store set with the little switch you have to flip. It's long enough to reach about anything inside of a case but not so long as to make it hard to get in at an angle if needed.
It includes a screw picker upper for lack of a better term. Looks like a syringe and when you push it down a little claw comes out the other end to pick up whatever. I don't know what it's really called but hopefully you will understand what I mean.
It DOES NOT include a plastic scribe, which I was hoping for.
I don't know what the large black tweezer looking thing is shown in the top right of the photo on Amazon. If anybody has any insight on that a reply with it's purpose would be helpful. Thanks.
Everything else is basically what I expected. I'm giving it 4 stars simply because there was not a detailed list of it's contents available before purchase, which would have been helpful. Though, the list wouldn't have swayed my decision, it would have been nice to know to go ahead and order a couple other little items at the same time.
It's a nice set and I recommend it.

3.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Half-measure 6 de diciembre de 2014

Boy do I wish I had looked more carefully at what this set contained and didn't contain. OK, as a set to do computer repairs, this is mediocre. 90% of the time, the kit will have what you need. But ONE precision screwdriver?!? As set of precision screwdrivers is why somebody buys a kit like this! Not for the Standard and Philips heads or the socket set. It's the tools that you can't find in the garage that you need. Granted, the insertion-extraction clipper and three prongs holder are great. The plastic screw container is a nice luxury to have too. The materials the tools are made of are kinda cheap.

1 star off because, come'on Rosewill! List the 45 pieces! Why you have to make it hard on your customers? Bad form.

1 star off because, come'on Rosewill! Now I need to buy a set of precision screwdrivers? Include the necessary, then move on to the optional.

3 stars because, several great tools I will use again and again.

In retrospect, I would have spent a few more dollars and been happy with my set for the next 20 years. The moral of the story is never choose half-measure when you should go all the way.

My Rosewill 146 piece tool kit arrived yesterday and after going through everything to make sure all the pieces were there and check the quality of the tools, I feel this is a very good kit for the average user to work on their PC or other items needing repairs/maintenance around the house or in a small office. The price was under forty dollars and seems fair.

I got my kit to replace an older, smaller Belkin zippered kit I've had for around 12 years. The zipper broke on the black soft case awhile ago when I took it to a friend's house to work on their computer. The anti-static wrist band fell out somewhere between the friend's house and mine and I haven't seen it since. The Rosewill 146 piece tool kit has the same anti-static wrist band I lost (vs. a useless vacuum cleaner [based on reviewers] that comes with a competitor's brand kit that looks very similar to this Rosewill). I always use an anti-static wrist band when working on a computer.

The quality of the tools seems good and should work fine for the average user. Many of the tools are very similar to the items in my old Belkin set that originally had 1/2 the components for about the same price 12 years ago. I was even able to move some of the components from the Belkin set to this new Rosewill set (extra long phillips bit, long screw driver, nuts n' bolts, etc. They just tucked in here and there).

The case is definitely beefier than the Belkin soft zippered cover I still have & have seen still being sold today.
The Rosewill case holds everything neatly & snugly, especially on the top side, with the latches...when you close the case the items do not fall out.

Overall, I do feel this Rosewill 146 piece tool set is good value.
