Buena compra.

So this ball winder takes a little bit to get used to, but I absolutely love it, I had read the reviews before I bought it and everyone said that there was little to no instruction, but it was easy enough to figure out from the pictures on the sheet it came with.

I used a ball of yarn that I was not particularly fond of and rerolled it a few times before I got the hang of the ball winder, and let me tell you, once you go through the first few and figure out how much tension you need, you can literally fly through your stash in no time.

I find that this doesn't actually make balls, they are more of a tire shape, since they are flat on the top and bottom they stack very well and with the little holder in the middle its very easy to keep your starting point.

This is the BEST yarn winder I've ever used, and I've used quite a few of them! No open gears to tangle yarn, smoothly working gears, and an easy tightening system with a rubber pad to keep the winder from slipping off the table when in use. I keep both my ball winder and umbrella swift set up on my cutting table in the basement, and the table has curved edges, which are no problem for the Royal Ball Winder. I quickly wound eight hanks of yarn yesterday with absolutely no difficulty; wish I'd known about this ball winder years ago!

Excellent! Yes, it IS expensive, but worth every penny. We have a small shop and must make ball yarns almost non-stop. It has been the only winder that can resist this use. Bought it to replace an older one that lasted more than two years of extreme use (maybe abuse?).
We have tried with others, but they just don't last.

I bought a larger more expensive winder made with all metal parts and it has never worked well. I have three of the Royal ball winders and they always operate smoothly and last forever (or it seems so)

Every bit as good as advertised. Perfect compliment to my Stanwood umbrella yarn winder. It's plastic, so I was hesitant, but Reviews indicted it was the most reliable. I've done over 50 hanks of yarn within first couple weeks, and am super pleased pleased with it!
I've been gathering gorgeous yarns for years from artisans carding, dying, spinning their own yarn, and have hand wound it before using it... A major project I've just finished used over 5,000 yards of yarn... and I wound ALL of it from hanks BY HAND. YES I would recommend this product!
