4.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Great results, but requires a surgeon's touch to assemble.. 17 de diciembre de 2013

Drive and enclosure are shipped as a set in a single sealed box, however assembly of the enclosure is up to the buyer. Enclosure has stamped metal sides but the frame between the sides is chrome'd plastic, and even with the minuscule screwdriver you are given for the microscopic screws (of which you need 8 and are supplied with 16), it is *VERY* easy to strip the screw-holes out.

There is a "Flat Flexible Cable" that installs between the board in the case, and the drive itself. This cable is a pain, even for someone that is used to dealing with them! For someone who has never handled one of these cables before it is nearly impossible to get it properly locked in place without damaging the cable.

My tablet PC typically had boot times of 60 - 75 seconds, before installing this drive (from end of Bios tests to Windows 8 desktop).
After installing this hard drive, boot times (from end of Bios tests to Windows 8 desktop) dropped to LESS THAN TEN SECONDS!

This is a great purchase, if you are confident about being able to assemble the case and the FFC cable.

Mba 1,1 rev a early oct zif pata drive

Came with a external USB drive and that zif is tricky. Plugged it in and installed lion via external USB no prob and pretty fast, 30 min. Swapped out the he internal samsung spindle hd with the ssd and was done. Then decided to clone a bootcamped partition, had 38 gigs available.

Drives way faster than spindle, right on specs listed 90mb write 80 read.
Spindle was 18/15
Cons: feels way small with 2 os's

I'm not a power user and do not keep a lot of data/files on my laptop so 64GB was more than enough for me. Considering the cost it was worth the hassle of ordering from a non-domestic supplier and the ifixit guides were good enough to help walk me thru. If it were more important I would have gone with OWC. There were several options available for drives and I'm satisfied with this drive and would recommend it to anyone in a similar situation.

I got this so I could keep my mp3 collection safe. It's pretty fast. My only complaint is the usb enclosure, it doesn't close properly. The screws wont go in because the holes are improperly aligned. So I left the top off and it still works. If your going to get this for storage (like I did) get a better enclosure. As for installing it in a laptop, make sure your laptop uses a ZIF connection. It's faster then a disk drive.

Working on a MacBook Air is always a bit scary (lots of tiny components packed in closely), but the drive itself worked as expected. Reinstall your OS, etc. and everything just works (and works a lot faster than it did with the old mechanical hard drive.)
