5.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Ultra Readable Dial 17 de febrero de 2012

Received it yesterday from JustCalculators very quickly from ordering. Shipped express mail by them for their standard shipping charge. This is a very well finished watch IMO which is to be expected of a Sportura grade Seiko.

The bezel is easy to grasp and rotates easily with 120 indents per revolution. If you want to change bands a 21mm width band is what fits the lugs rather than the 18mm listed. I find the simple black and white dial design and white hands to provide one of the most easily readable watch dials I have seen.

I really like Seiko Kinetic design watches and have watches using the Kinetic module from Elgin, Pulsar and Seiko. The Elgins are 11+ years old and have needed nothing other than having the original power capacitor upgraded to the currently used lithium ion rechargeable battery. The others have required nothing.

5.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas A lot of watch for the money 6 de julio de 2012

My first Seiko in 25 years and I wanted to try the kinetic drive. After I ordered the bracelet version I was second-guessing myself, wondering if I should have ordered the black bezel/rubber strap version instead. Then the watch arrived! It is beautiful, way better than the plain, flat manufacturer photos show. It's a beast and the lugs are long, so the bracelet version is probably the better option, or there would be too much room between the case and the strap.

The bezel has a great feel when turning; better than any of the much more expensive dive watches I have owned. The bracelet has that expensive Seiko ratcheting dive extension, which works great.

Note that it uses the Seiko pin and collar system for the bracelet links. I resized it myself because I have the tools, but make sure your watch shop understands the Seiko pin and collar system or they'll probably mess it up. Do NOT lose those collars! They're very tiny and easy to lose...

This watch looks and feels way, way more expensive than the price. In fact, I'd venture to say the case, bracelet, sapphire crystal and everything else would probably cost you up to 10 times as much if it were "Swiss" (e.g., TAG Heuer, etc.)

The kinetic drive fired right up and seems to work fine. A few shakes and it starts up, no fuss. And get this -- the seconds hand actually hits the marks on the minute indices! Very rare for a quartz watch!

The lume is excellent and the "3D" depth and design of the face is very attractive. I'm really glad I got the black face/bracelet version.

All told, bottom line this is an amazing watch for the money, no two ways about it. I'm an experienced collector of all types of watches for many years and this one is a winner.

5.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Solid Tool Watch 9 de septiembre de 2012

I've had this watch for a few days and overall it is everything advertised and more. Great fit and finish on all the components with a solid lock-up on the deployment clasp and a positve feel to the click-stops on the bezel ring. This is a massive watch--no mistake. It makes my Seiko Solar Diver (SNE109) seem small in comparison and that's no easy feat! The watch has a solid weight without being burdensome and properly sized to my wrist it stays in place without rolling, pinching or binding.

Which brings me to my only negative comment; having the watch sized by my local jeweler makes the timepiece unreturnable. So imagine my dismay to find that Dexclusive's direct website is listing this watch for 30% less than the fullfillment price through Amazon!! It's a great watch, but I wish I'd done a bit more digging before I pulled the trigger on my Amazon shopping cart. The watch is worth the price but no one likes finding out they paid too much.

I've only had this watch for two weeks, but the accuracy over that time has been exemplary with no loss/gain in time when compared to my atomic watches.

The bold hands and markers in contrasting color to the face make it easy to read the time day or night as the luminosity of the hands and markers is excellent. They remain luminous for many hours.

It takes a long time to charge the watch. I don't wear it every day and it is yet to reach full charge. It should be noted that the second hand which is used for the battery condition indicator does not increase incrementally, but in "jumps". When it advances "5 seconds" when the battery condition button is pushed, the reserve is 5 to 7 days. It then jumps to 10 seconds; then 20 seconds; then 30 seconds. At the 30 second mark the reserve is 6 months.

It should be noted that many on-line resources advise against letting the battery reserve to go to zero. The watch should always have a good charge. This mandates that they watch be worn a couple of days each week. So if you have a lot of watches to wear consider that.

The watch band is very secure and expands to wear over a wetsuit.

It has an excellent size (comfortable to wear, but impressive and easily read) and heft (it feels expensive).

It will take over two weeks of steady wear to charge the watch fully. Automatic chargers apparently do not work for this watch. There is an electronic charger that costs $300.00 that can charge the watch while not worn, but it does not sound like a logical direction to take.

I would buy this again. Seiko also sells an automatic watch of similar design for a lot less (about $225.00). I don't imagine that an all mechanical watch will be as accurate as a quartz movement watch.

I am happy with this purchase
