5.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas To Install in Windows 7 . . . 30 de julio de 2010

I bought the Connectland USB Wireless Adapter to use in my wife's computer running Windows 7 Professional - 64bit . The included software wouldn't even attempt to install with this Windows version. However, after some checking, it turns out that Connectland uses RealTek drivers. Just do a Google search for "RTL8188SU Driver download" and use that. Attach the adapter and then run the auto-install RealTek driver package (Realtek RTL8188SU Wireless Driver - Windows XP/Vista/Windows 7(all x32/x64)). Be sure you get a version you can open and run on your machine because it's out there in .zip, .exe, and .rar packages).

Okay, apart from the drivers issue, I get good reception from one end of my house to the other. The dongle is unobtrusive and does the job for me.

3.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas great for N router, but does NOT use 5Ghz channels. 29 de junio de 2010

brought 2 of the products to use with 2 different laptops USB 2.0 ports. 1 broke in less than 1 month, was bent due to handling of computer. other one still working on win XP on netbook, BUT does not connect automatically and drops ever so often, still wondering if router or card that actally drops. this and like amany N wireless cards, it uses the 2.7 Ghz channels and does connect from 60 to 150 MBPS.. works faster moving files to router USB hard drive fine than old OEM 54 MBPS card on computers. would have gave better rating if connection was automatic as tried to connect automatically and actually used the 5 Ghz channels that router supports, but never mentioned on information or sites what it supports. still better than OEM G card. as slow as the 802.11A is, it was orginally built for the 5 Ghz channels. Next card will be a/b/g/n specs.

I installed this usb adapter on a Windows XP laptop. It associates and immediately drops, repeatedly. I double checked all settings like security type and network key, and they are correct. Why, oh why, do I ever think that cheap will work? Stopping at Best Buy on the way home to get a name brand adapter. (BTW - I have put many laptops on this network, so it is not like I don't know how to set one up.)

It has been working flawlessly with good signal strength in my 2 story house. Took 5 minutes to install the Windows 7 driver and connect to my 802.11 network. I only installed the driver, not the software package that came with it. The Windows 7 driver and driver updates for older Windows operating systems are available at [...]

well this little thing works as it should. no hassles or anything. plugged it in, installed driver, and it worked. my connection never dropped or anything. been using it for over 2 weeks now. i know that is not a long time and it can fail, but so far it is fine.

it doesn't get hot or anything. nice and cool to the touch 24/7
