4.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Awesome for Movies, Bad for Music 27 de julio de 2010

Well as you can tell by the title what I think about this system. I would have given it 5 stars if only the music sounded good, but it comes off as boom box sound with a sub woofer. The DVD/Blue-Ray video and audio playback is where this system really shines. DVD up conversion is really good but not as sharp and pristine as Blu-ray. Setting it up with the sound calibrator works wonders as my right rear speakers are six feet further from my listening position than my left. Once calibrated you get the correct, in my opinion, amount of bass for the soundtrack and correct sound leveling for all speakers. Word of caution as the sound calibrator is very loud in when setting up. Paired up with my Samsung 46" LED LCD 6900 series TV sets up optimum video performance automatically, which is a beautiful thing. I cannot comment on 3D video playback because my TV is not equipped to do so but was worth getting just in case I do. A wireless card comes with the unit and will allow you to software upgrade the unit, view netflix movies and has a lot of other cool apps that may be to your liking. The rear surround speaker are wireless, not the rear speakers themselves, which are attached via a wireless receiver box that has to be plugged into a power outlet. In conclusion this is definitely a 5 Star unit for movies at this price range, but I have to take off 1 star because of the boxy music sound.

I was a bit hesitant after reading some negative reviews, but this model had everything that I was looking for in one box -- hard to resist. I am pleased to report that I have had zero problems with this unit. I was especially surprised to find that my unit shippped fully 3D ready with the latest firmware update already installed. I went to update the firmware and was so happy to get the message that I already have the latest firmware. Mine is connected to a Verizon Fios HD STB and a Vizio 55-inch 3D LED HDTV. I have not played a 3D DVD yet, but I have watched 3D pay-per-view movies on Fios. I did have the movie get "stuck" once, but I don't know if that had anything to do with the home theater -- it more likely had something to do with the Fios signal. The sound quality is certainly not professional home theater quality, but it is great for everyday use and good enough for enjoying movies in surround sound. I love the "wireless" rear speakers -- they work great. I put the other rear speakers above my TV in the IIz setup as described in the manual. Not the most impressive surround sensation in this set up, but it makes for a nice clean living room setup without a bunch of wires everywhere. I just hope that everything holds up well over time. The DVD disc tray and access panel for the usb port are pretty flimsy.
5.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Samsung Theatre System 9 de enero de 2011

The Samsung 6930 Theatre System once set up has a very good dynamic sound but suffers a little from no individual e/q settings for each channel. Also, although connecting to a Samsung UN7000C TV as per manual, Samsung's AnyNet system will not work as described so I have to connect the sound system to my TV separate to the cable box and select source inputs manually. The TV should theoretically be connected via the HDMI output on the 6930 so that only one input is required into the TV with AnyNet handling the switching. Selection becomes confusing for kids plus the remote only switches the 6930 off but won't switch it on so the TV fires up with no sound until the 6930 is manually powered up. With separate source inputs into the TV, at least if one of the family switch the TV on, the internal speakers will work until I intentionally power up the 6930 after which it's logic will mute the internal TV speakers and default to 7.1 surround sound. It took a while to get speaker levels correct in the room, don't use the automatic setup program because all distances and delays are nonsense when you go in and look at them. I physically measured all the distances from speakers to "sweet spot" inputting them into the manual utility. I used the centre channel as ground zero to achieve vocal intelligibility and set the levels of all other channels so that audio arrived simultaneously at the desired location at the desired level. After all these wrinkles, watching a modern movie with artistic surround sound mixing becomes a great home experience..............

5.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Samsung HT-C6930W 3D Blu-ray Home Theater 15 de enero de 2011

I previously had a great sounding Samsung HT-Z520 (which also came with wireless rear speakers), but decided to change over to the 6930 system. I am glad I did! There is a huge difference in design and quality between the 2 systems and I can not believe that the sound is even better than what I was used to. When watching a Blu-ray or any movie, there are far better details in the sound that I never noticed before with my older system. This system is matched to my Samsung PN-58C8000 and looks great. The front tower speakers are 52" tall and are taller than my TV when using the TV stand so I will now hang my TV on the wall so the top of the TV will be even with the speaker height. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase and very happy with the quality of sound coming from all of the speakers. As the older HT-Z520 system was not capable of firmware updates, I now have 2 great Samsung products that will always be kept up-to-date with the latest firmware. Approx setup time (including assembling the tower speakers) was 45minutes to an hour.

This unit functions well, but has nagging software issues that Samsung refuses to address. When in Anynet mode in conjunction with my Samsung TV, and both are turned on at the same time, the TV will force the Theater System to revert to the D-In mode from HDMI 1. This requires us to pick up the black Samsung remote and switch the unit back to HDMI 1, sometimes twice. My wife loathes this glitch, and Samsung will not provide an option to revert to a default setting after much negative consumer input from the forums. Instead of listening to their customers, they just say, "that is the way it is supposed to work," and then move on to the next product. Booo Samsung. Listen to your customers, bad Samsung.
