LOVE! I took this to Haiti with me, and it was perfect. There are positives and negatives, but in my opinion, the negatives are negligible, and the positives are FAR worth it.

Negatives:
1) Won't fit in a carry-on, even quad-folded. I try to pack lightly on missions (i.e. no checked baggage), but it's either use this as one of your carry-ons (and then have to check a bag to carry belongings), or pack it in a bag too large to carry-on. Some of my team mates had these, too, and used it as one of their carry-ons, and nobody from the airline gave them any trouble at all.
2) No zipper pouch for personal items attached to the inside of the net.
3) Can't remove the green cover.
4) No rain tarp.
5) The zipper on mine sticks from time to time.

Positives:
1) VERY lightweight
2) Takes NO time to set up or take down.
3) Much more spacious than other individual mosquito nets
4) Much better air flow than other Individual mosquito nets
5) Much less expensive than other individual mosquito nets
6) Water-resistant bottom layer
There were bedbugs where we were staying. Other people were bitten through their nets (other brands). I wasn't. It probably has to do with my net being large enough for me to comfortably sleep without worrying about touching the sides, but I wasn't bitten through the bottom of my net either.
Very happy with this purchase

This is an ingenious contraption. It pops out of its bag into a screen tent without poles. I put down the seats in my powerboat and placed an air mattress over them. Then, I put this pop-up mosquito net over the air mattress. It works great!

My wife and I have recently returned from a trip to Malawi, Africa. We were advised to take precautions against mosquitoes so we bought plenty of repellent and decided to also try these out. We're glad to have had them in the end.
We were medical volunteers in Africa so we knew that we'd be traveling throughout southern Malawi to visit district hospitals. Some places we stayed had mosquito nets to drape over the bed and some had nothing. More often than not the nets that were draped over the beds had multiple holes in them that made us nervous to use them. The mosquitoes in the area are fairly small so small holes in netting were worrisome. We brought these pop-up nets with us and were very confident in their protection. They were light and fairly easy to pack. The original folded-up shape is about 2 feet across but there is an alternate packing method that reduces that diameter to a little over a foot.
What makes these so great is that they keep the netting from resting on you, which would allow mosquitoes to bite you. All of the nets that drape over the beds sag at the sides so if you sleep with someone else you end up pushed against the netting and find yourself vulnerable to bites.
The problem we had with these is that you can't fit two of these on a double bed. Sometimes we had a double bed and sometimes we had two single beds. If we had two singles then we'd set these up and use them. If we had a double bed we'd have to chance it with the ned net and use tape to patch up the holes and try to find blankets or poles to prevent the net from resting on us as we slept. Another problem, and this could be considered a big one, is that air doesn't circulate through the netting very well. There were very few places in Malawi that had air conditioning so we relied on fans to keep us cool. Once you're in these tents it's very difficult to actually feel the breeze and it can get stifling inside them. If you find this as a problem we'd suggest pointing as many fans as you can at yourself as you sleep to prevent mosquito bites should you choose to sleep without these nets. I didn't mind the heat inside of these since I felt so much more protected against the mosquitoes.
Some tips to help you use these to full effectiveness: Keep them closed until you're ready to get in. That seems obvious but sometimes you get complacent. Be careful of your feet or arms resting against the netting. I'm under 6 feet tall so someone taller than that may be a little cramped. You also lose some height due to a pillow but if you just tape a sheet, pillow case, plastic, or paper outside of the area where you'd rest your head then you don't have to worry about getting bitten through the net.

This tent was amazing!!!! I bought these for my son and I for a week long scout camp. Bugs and spiders were horrible. This saved our camping trip.
The tents fit on top of our cots and we had plenty of room inside to get changed, keep some books and clothes and our sleeping bags and sleeping mats. The pockets are a great addition that let you keep smaller items such as glasses and flashlights.
Best money I ever spent for camping.

You will most definitely want to practice folding PER INSTRUCTIONS several times before taking anywhere before using. . Then take the directions with you on your journey.

I debated between getting the tarp version or the nylon floor. I decided on the tarp version and it was a good decision. When traveling internationally where mattresses may have unwelcome residents waiting for you, or even locally where bed bugs are a concern, the tarp is effective protection.

It was one my carry on luggage pieces because I double folded it, and it slipped into the overhead still leaving plenty of of room for fellow travelers. When double folding, find a bag to slip it into so it will not pop open unexpectedly. A 20 x 20 × 2 inch one is actually perfect.

I can't emphasize enough following directions for folding singly or doubly. By the way, singly folds differently than the double version. It is simple to do, but failure to follow directions could make your tent fail.

It is a worthwhile investment and when not using it, stores easily without taking up much space.

Your fellow travelers will wish they thought ahead and bought one. It does far more than mosquito protection! It keeps spiders, cockroaches, bed bugs and other unwelcome pests away.
