Sati (Inglés) Tapa blanda – 29 mar 2011
Descripción del producto
"The ancient hope for redemption is recast in this sprightly contemporary parable, the first adult novel from a bestselling author of young adult fiction" --Publishers Weekly
"[A] carefully and sparingly written fantasy...Sati could be a valuable addition to a growing library of multicultural literature for high school students. Although its characters are not from minorities, it will make a fine introduction to non-Christian religious beliefs, for Sati's philosophy and persona is based on a mixture of Buddhist, Hindu, and other spiritual thought." --School Library Journal
Reseña del editor
I once knew this girl who thought she was God. She didn't give sight to the blind or raise the dead. She didn't even teach anything, not really, and she never told me anything I probably didn't already know.
On the other hand, she didn't expect to be worshipped, nor did she ask for money. Given her high opinion of herself, some might call that a miracle.
I don't know, maybe she was God. Her name was Sati and she had blonde hair and blue eyes.
For all who meet her, Sati will change everything. Sati may change everything for you.Ver Descripción del producto

I had read Christopher Pike's books before. I enjoyed what I read very much but assumed that was all there was to the guy: vampire and ghost stories for teens. But with this book he reached for new heights and found them. This novel is a complete success and I have no problem at all recommending it to anyone.
Also, not the greatest wordsmen to talk on this planet! ;-). Here it goes. Have you read Christopher Pike yet? You have? You like his work at all? If so? Pick up this book. It took me by surprise. I had a few portions of the book that had a difficulty for me to get through it due to self reflection, but as I continued to move through it, the light in my tunnel started to shine brighter by the turn of a page. His style of writing is not too difficult to get into. Fairly easy to read. I've never found myself feeling very confused due to his style and that goes for books I've read by him so far.
This book definitely causes you to look at yourself. Some things you discover may be hard to handle. Some will make your day perhaps. I felt like I was on the journey as a character myself during my reading of this. That is a huge bonus for me. I read to escape anyway, but when I get that deeper connection with any story, again it's a huge huge bonus.

I'll do an update review after re-reading :)
