4.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas very pretty, but will probably sit on the shelf. 22 de julio de 2011

I have a daughter who is about to turn one. Yes i knew when i purchased this that it would not nessasarily be appropriate for an infant/ toddler to play with. However, i decide after seeing these beautiful toys made by schleich that i would like to collect for her these toys over birthdays and holidays, and when she is old enough to play with an appreciate them properly, she will have a nice diversity of toys to build a whole world with. I think they are perfect for stimulating a childs imagination and i would have killed as a kid to have a collection of these for myself instead of an array of Barbies. I like Faraun especially. He looks like such a friendly dragon, so im not particularly worried about him giving my kid nightmares later on. Downside is, the way he presented online and the dimensions listed kind of fooled my husband and i into thinking that he would be a bit bulkier and sturdier. His Wings are kind of rubbery and i worry that they could break off with any seriouse play. When it came to the schleich horses that we already have, they are so solid and durable, i had no qualms at all i with letting my infant play with them. Faraun however may have to sit on the shelf for some time before he can get any real use. At least he makes a great decor item for a childs room. (the real point is, i hope he doesnt break when she finally gets her hands on him)

One of the best Dragon's I have ever seen or bought. You better grab this one before it is gone. My 9 and 7 year old boys have been really enjoyed playing with this and other Schleich dragons and dinos over the last few years. This is one of their all time favorites!!!

This dragon by schleich is worth the price! Like all schleich toys is of great quality and withstands children's play with no problems. My eight year old daughter loves to play with this dragon..if you are in doubt, trust me, buy this toy and you will not regret it.

3.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Way overpriced, Schleich had these made in China. 4 de marzo de 2012
Por James C. Stoltz - Publicado en Amazon.com
This dragon from Schleich is a beautiful figure, detailed texture, good paint application, and durable (but have you ever seen a solid hunk of plastic that isn't durable?)

So far so good right? But then you look at the price tag. Not $30, not $40, but $50!!! And yes, I know Amazon lists it as $44.95, but that is before shipping. Retail on this figure is $50. That's TWO TWENTY DOLLAR BILLS AND A TEN. When I look at the Dragon I just don't see where that price is coming from. I can see $30. I could perhaps even see $40, but FIFTY FREAKING DOLLARS for this?! WHY?!

If Schleich were still making all their toys in Germany then I could see how $50 could perhaps be justified. But, sadly, they are now outsourcing either all or almost all of their manufacturing to China, and this figure is stamped "China". So they're keeping the made in Germany price, but actually having them made in China.

Schleich seems to be following in the footsteps of many brands that start out with first world manufacturing and putting quality first, but then, after their brand gets a good reputation and starts to get bigger, they then start putting profits over quality and outsourcing to China. Congratulations Schleich, you are sacrificing the long term viability of your brand for short term gain.
