I bought this case for two reasons: 1.) unlike the Yesoo flip-cover case and the Hyperion extended battery case, this one has a kickstand; 2.) A review here assured me it would fit the Anker extended 5200 mAh battery (it does).

In case it's not clear from the description, this is a two-piece case.

The first piece is a rubbery sleeve that goes around the phone, and wraps around the front to provide some edge- and face-protection for the front of the phone. The second is a tough plastic exoskeleton that clamps around the rubbery sleeve and holds it in place at the top, bottom, and sides (Amazon's picture of this item shows dimples on the middle of the left and right sides where those arms are). The second piece contains the kickstand.

Because of the design, both the rubbery sleeve and the hard exoskeleton contain cutouts for all the S4's ports; they all line up perfectly. The case does not obstruct the camera in any way, and does not show up in the pictures. My cell and wifi reception are the same with and without the case (I have not tested NFC yet). The rubber/plastic sides and back of the case are easier to hold on to than the phone's original Samsung plastic body.

There is one annoyance, though: it's very easy for the rubber sleeve to slip off the edges and corners of the phone, even where the plastic exoskeleton wraps around. When that happens, you basically have to take off the hard exoskeleton to re-seat the rubber sleeve. On more minor notes, the kickstand is off-center, which means the phone is not as stable as it probably could have been when propped up. It won't fall over, but it does rock back and forth. Also, the rubber sleeve wrapping around the edges of the phone may protect the device, but it makes it harder to tap the edges of the screen. I blame Samsung and their tiny bezels for this, not Seidio.

So, this case is for Seido's 4500mAh battery. Before I saw this case I bought Hyperion's 5200mAh battery and case (less than $30). I was bummed that I would have to buy Seido's 4500mAh battery to use this case, but after looking at Hyperion's battery cover and the picture of Seido's battery cover, the proportion of thickness to length was about the same so I thought I'd see how this case worked with Hyperion's battery and case. It works perfectly! Headphone lines up, no obstruction with the camera or charge plug and the coverage over the front screen is perfect.

I previously had the Seidio extended case with metal kickstand for my Samsung S3 and was EXTREMELY happy with that case. Note that I used the Seidio extended battery and case as well.

Now that I have the Samsung S4, it took me only a few minutes to decided on Seidio's version of the extended case with metal kickstand for the S4. This case is exactly what I was looking for to protect my S4. It has a rubber sleeve that fits over the phone and a hard plastic exoskeleton that fits snug over the rubber sleeve.

As some reviewers stated: The only problem I have with this case, in which I did not have this problem for my S3 Seidio case, is that it is indeed easy for the top of the exoskeleton to slip off the top of the phone. This also happens very easily to the corners when I try and pull it out of my jean pockets. You have to partially pull off the exoskeleton and reset it on top of the rubber sleeve.

This is very annoying! It is good to note that this time I am using the Anker extended 5200 mAh battery and cover instead of Seidio's version. I don't think this is the cause rather than poor design on Seidio's part.

I love the kickstand on the back and it does not tip as others have seem to experience.

Important: With this case, I cannot use my Shure headphones that have a 90 degree turn audio plug. It only works with my straight audio headphone plug. This seems to just be a problem with the case to not allow enough room to push the 90 degree turn audio plugs far enough into the phone.

Other than these 2 issues, I'm quite happy with my case!

The case looks awesome. The metal kickstand is a cool looking accent, making your phone look like some kind of high tech stealth military hardware. It also feels very nice. The lining is extremely squishy and soft and the hard plastic frame is textured to match.

The downside is that the case is VERY. GRIPPY. Most of the time, this is actually an advantage. It sticks to your hand really well, and you won't drop it much and it doesn't slide around if you plop it on the car seat and go aggressive driving. But it turns your pants pocket inside out every. damn. time. If you wear tight pants I can't imagine you'll find it remotely possible to keep your phone in your pocket.

The case fits my phone with an extended batter and it keeps the bad aftermarket phone back from falling off but the rubber/plasic that covers the phone is loos and everything sticks to it.....Every bit of lint, dust, and dirt that gets within a foot of it is attracted to the case and sticks to it. My phone now looks like a dustbunny 24/7. Also the hard plastic shell doesn't cover the corners (where you need the hard shell protection the most) and the placement of the metal stand is makes the already fat feeling phone feel even fatter.
