2.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas SSE was released prematurely...Still Needs fixing after latest patch v1.35, 20 de junio de 2011
Por Bukko - Publicado en Amazon.com
The only thing this SSE (Ship Simulator Extremes) does better than it predcessor SS 2008 CE(Ship Simulator 2008 Collectors Addition) is simulate the wave motion and the water looks more realistic...along with some better texturing for the ship models....but if that was the trade-off for so many of it's other short commings and bugs it wasn't worth it to many Ship Sim fans! See the posts in the support SSE forum...

This game is a dissapointment at this stage of it's developement. VSTEP, (the maker of the game) released it in an unfinished state and has been scrambling to patch and fix it ever since the firestorm of loyal users of SS 2008 rained down on VSTEP with massive critizism. All of us Ship Sim fans want to see this game succeed because at this time there is no good alternative except (Virtual Sailor and Vehicle Simulator) that are both written by one person and are in an eternal beta stage...

After toying around with SSE for a while and getting a little frustrated with the front end menus (the lack of user ergonomics in the menus, load times, missing trackir support, memory loading resulting in 2-4 fps in Anartica free roaming, reseting throttles when switching views, graphic short comings such as poor bow wake/ spray, sea textures overlapping the boat in rougher water, limited map functions, poor drawing distance for scenery, pop up bridges and horizon objects I've reached the end of the line with the game... I could go on and on about the bugs and the misses in the user interface... and it may seem like I'm bashing SSE but in reality I really want it to live up to the manufacture's hype.

The problems with SSE are many at this point (V1.35). I would recommend SS2008 CE if you are going to purchase a product from Vstep but hold off on SSE! They don't deserve your hard earned money yet for a product that is not ready for prime time!

VSTEP has release a Ferry Pack addon to the game which is a good quality add-on but it still doesn't address the core game and it' problems. Imagine painting a showroom finish on a rotted, delaminated boat hull... that's what they've done... fix the hull!!

BTW don't be fooled by the word "Simulator".... SSE is not a ship simulator at all. At this stage in it's developement is't much more like an arcade game.

Another note....don't be fooled by the beautiful looking doctored up screen shots of the great looking sea states, bow wakes and sea water surounding the boats in the game advertisments. It's doesn't look like that at all.... VSTEP said they "removed that feature because it took too big a performance hit"

That's a load of crap... take a look at Crysis 2 and then tell me that with a straight face....

CMON VSTEP... I've paid for your product..... now it's your turn to deliver what you promised in your game trailer...
