This chair is super easy to assemble, arm rests move up and down, the back portion of the seat can extend almost 180*, it’s a really really comfortable chair.
I added a comfiLife seat cushion ($30) and a set of black rubber chair wheels ($25)
I couldn’t be more satisfied with this purchase, I definitely recommend. If you’re looking for a budget chair, please stop! From all the reviews I’ve read on all those chairs you won’t get longevity, or comfort. You might be okay with spending less money but I’m a “What’s my money getting me?” Kind of guy. And I didn’t go the cheap route for a chair that I’ll be sitting in 7+ hours a day. Just cause you pour syrup on stuff doesn’t make it a pancake!
Stop wasting your time and pour your syrup on this authentic organic (comfortable) pancake!
Aside from that, this is the first "gaming" chair I have ever owned. Putting it together took about 20 minutes and is extremely intuitive. It has several flexible options for tilt/seat position/armrests. The included lumbar support and head pillows are comfortable to me, but I've always preferred more firm cushions, so be aware of that as you buy. The chair itself is firm enough to offer support but immensely comfortable, I was sitting in it for 8+ hours yesterday and had no problems vs the roller office chair I had been using.
All in all, fantastic chair, poor shipping experience.
Neck and Lumbar Support
Strong Metal Construction
Comfortable Forgiving Padding
The only con I have is that the neck rest sits higher than I'd like it. The elastic strap fits over the head of the chair and sits higher on your head. If it had a clasp that you could loop through the head, it would be a lot easier to adjust. But otherwise, no complaints!!
Update: With a snip of scissors, and some Velcro I happened to have handy I MacGyvered the strap to be able to through the headrest. Problem solved!! No complaints!! ^_^
1) The raised sides on the front of the seat cut into my (admittedly very large) thighs if I sit with the lumbar pillow attached for more than a couple hours, which is kind of a big deal since the point of a gaming chair is to keep me comfy for absurdly long gaming sessions. Relatively easy to solve by removing the lumbar pillow, which is kind of uncomfortable to me anyway. The seat conforms much better to my body with the added depth I get from removing the pillow.
2) The wheels are awful. After about two months of lightly rolling this thing around about three square feet of a carpeted floor, one of the wheels just straight-up fell apart. I've never had that happen with the wheels of any other chair in my entire life, and I've bought plenty of the crappy, super-basic chairs that go for like $50 at office supply stores. The cushions might develop rips over time, the fake leather might peel off, the recliner hinge might have broken, but all those chairs' wheels are still going strong. It's pretty disappointing that I can't say the same for a chair six times the price, which specifically cites its fancy wheels as a selling point.
So overall, the chair is comfortable and seems mostly well-made. Just factor in an extra $10-20 in the price for the replacement wheels you will inevitably have to buy.
I had an issue with the arm rest where the piece that lets you lower the rest to go down was broken off once I received it but I went ahead and contacted Vertagear from their site and they were so helpful and kind they went and sent me a replacement arm rest!
I can definitely see myself using this chair for years to come and it has to be super worth it for the price that I paid because it’s durable and easy to assemble. I used a YouTube video tutorial by vertagear and it helped a lot!
