Reseña del editor
Two months have passed since Karina's painful departure from James, the mysterious lover who awakened her darkest desires, and she'll do anything-anything-to locate him and win him back. Her search takes her to London, where she finds herself immersed in the world of fine art and forbidden pleasures. And soon, Karina meets another enigmatic man who promises to help her find James...for a price. Damon George is rich, gorgeous, and a member of a secret society that caters to the sensual thrills of the wealthy and powerful. Though Karina insists her heart will always belong to James, Damon is determined to have her, body and soul. By the time she finds James, Karina has been "trained" to please another. Will James reject her again...or find her more irresistible than ever?

Karina's adventures at the Crimson Glove Society with Damon and Vanette and her efforts with her artist roommates, preparing for the showing were great reading for me. I really enjoyed how all the pieces came together at the end of the book at the showing and Karina is finally reunited explosively with James.
I will confess to some disappointment (thus the 4 vs the 5 rating) that James' and Karina's time together was so brief, and somewhat unfulfilling to me, the reader, as I panted my way through Slow Seduction, with the prize being their reunion.
I knew, going into this series, that it was, in fact, a series. I have already pre-ordered Slow Satisfaction, as I absolutely want to read the conclusion of their story. I am definitely invested in what happens with James and Karina. However, I am a little put out that it won't be available until August. I do find, as an avid reader, and now being involved in so many trilogies that when the subsequent book finally comes out, I have to refresh my memory as to what is going on in the story. I am hoping that the wait for this book won't be so prolonged and that it will be avaialable much sooner than August.
At the end of Slow Surrender, James disappeared from Karina's life like Prince Charming fleeing Cinderella at midnight. Now, armed with only a job offer from theTate in London and a mysterious sculpture of a glass slipper, Karina goes in quest of her missing beloved. In London she is soon drawn into two different but slightly overlapping worlds which James inhabits, one a world of dominants and submissives, discipline and service, the other a world of artists and artisans, creatives and free spirits. Tan introduces a raft of new characters, all of whom are connected with James in one way or another; I particularly liked oddball couple Paulina and Michel (and I don't consider quirkiness a character flaw). The crucial question Karina faces is whether it's really James she wants, or simply the type of sex to which he introduced her. Could she be happy with another dom?
While Karina and James are separated for much of the novel, he is never out of her thoughts, and he makes one affecting appearance before the climax of the story, which is intense both emotionally and sexually. Tan also sets up a crisis in Karina's relationship with her mother that will need to be resolved. I honestly don't think that this book suffers too much from "middle book sag"--it's mostly set-up and not much pay-off, but I trust the pay-off in book three will be worth the wait. If you liked the first book, I say don't hesitate to get this one!
Unable to graduate pending the fallout for finally turning in that douche professor who propositioned her in exchange for passing grades, Karina flees to the UK to work for Martindale as well and chase after James. She meets Damon, a member of The Crimson Glove Society who offers her an interview as a trainee. She accepts, seeing this as a way to find James. The Society decides to accept her after a weekend test with Damon (who's frustrated as hell since Karina picked no sex as her dictum (the one thing she will not allow, like a hard limit) since he's taken a liking to her) and she begins her training. After finding out the truth about her search for James Damon makes her an offer: He'll help her find James, but if he does and he rejects her, Karina must gives herself to him for one night, anything goes. She agrees and the fun begins.
Hot scenes, great characters and did I mention the twist at the end? The only thing I hate is that I have to wait until August to find out what happens next!
