4.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Looking for something for root rot? 2 de junio de 2014
Por D. Coral - Publicado en
This is a good broad spectrum fungicide. The myclobutanil ingredient was introduced in the 1970s. But if you have root rot from overwatering it is typically caused by pythium fungus that is naturally present in the soil, and that is much harder to cure than the fungus that attacks the leaves. For pythium root rot there are some other fungicides to consider.

So far my favorites for root rot are: Phosphorous acid (Agri-Fos), Mefenoxam (Subdue MAXX), Azoxystrobin (Heritage), Pyraclostrobin + Boscalid (Pageant Intrinsic) and for a "natural approach" using beneficial bacteria: Bacilus subtilis (Serenade).

Phosphorous acid is interesting because it is such a good systemic fungicide, yet such a common chemical. It is often injected in tree trunks.

Bacilus subtilis is fascinating because this bacteria strain that is normally found in soil produces antifungal compounds that inhibit all kinds of fungus. This would be similar to eating yogurt or taking probiotic pills to help with digestion -- harnessing symbiotic relationships with bacteria.

Mefenoxam is powerful specifically against pythium root rot.

The strobilurin antifungal family is most interesting (such as azoxystrobin and pyraclostrobin). The strobilurins inhibit the electron transport in fungus mitochondria, and it also boost plant growth in mysterious ways that scientists don't quite fully understand (something to do with plant respiration and conserving plant energy for growth).

The above are systemic antifungals, so they absorb into the plant and work from the inside-out against pythium root rot.

5.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas SAVED MY PEACHES!!! 2 de junio de 2016

I bought this product because my peach tree which is only about 2 years old began to show signs of leaf curl which I know can defoliate my tree early and cause it to die. I decided on this product based upon some research on the internet and decided to give it a try to cure the leaf curl.
For starters, I have sprayed my tree down as I was supposed to in order to avoid this but upon doing some research, the spray I was using wasn't strong enough to use at the end of the season. It was just an organic three in one fungicide, insecticide and miticide, I found that the product I was using is best just to spray on during the season as opposed to preventing diseases long term. Anyway so I decided on this product.
My tree started showing signs about two weeks ago and I tried my original three and one spray which didn't help in the least bit, I would pull the damaged leaves off every day and it showed no signs of stopping or slowing down. I bought this and mixed it in a spray bottle as directed only putting in a little of the fungicide and I added some dish detergent to help it stick to the leaves better. I sprayed it on the leaves on a warm, sunny day in order to help the drying process and pulled off the rest of the damaged leaves. Usually if I would pull them all off, I would get at least 4 more the next day. After using this I had two leaves the next day and then the following day I didn't notice any. Since I have applied it about a week ago, I have only noticed one other leaf that had it. I'm optimistic that this cured my tree and will be reapplying it at the two week mark just to be extra cautious. Fingers crossed that this stuff continues to work.

From my experience and trying out different products, you don't get any better then this stuff. I had NO idea you could get fungus on your GRASS! We spent 6 years in this house wondering why in the world we couldn't get that beautiful lush green grass. I happened upon this stuff to spray on my veggie garden and ended up spraying the left over on my lawn. People, my grass has grown in like something from a dream this spring!!! We just can't get past it! So I ordered the bulk package and plan to spray my entire yard!
1.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas I should have read the fine print before ordering 6 de octubre de 2016

I'll admit I probably waited too long to treat my St Augustine for brown patch. So It's hard to be too critical, but I'll leave it at that I saw no change, other than it continued to get brown and die. I'll have a crazy hard time bringing it back for the spring.

Okay, so why just 1 star? Value! There is none. I should have read the fine print before ordering, but they call for 7oz per gallon for treating brown patch. Yep, so think about it ... the 16oz bottle makes a little more than 2 gallons, treats a little over 1,000 square feet. It wasn't enough to do my front yard lightly. Here is the good part ... it protects UP TO 2 weeks! Wow, so for my humid wet Houston climate, protecting my front and back yard, it shouldn't cost me more than a few hundred dollars for a couple months.

Anyway you spin it, not a good value for yards. Bushes, plants?? Maybe. And it does say lawns.

My garden was hit with septoria leaf spot disease and I tried many organic and chemicals before I came across Spectracide Immunox, the disease was going to wipe out all my plants and was spreading rapidly.
I hit them with Immunox and although there is no cure it has slowed to a crawl.
Overall I am very pleased with the product and plan on using as a preventative next year before the fungus can take hold.
