5.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Know your DVI connectors! 21 de marzo de 2016

If you're not savvy to the different types of DVI connectors, do yourself a big favor and do a image search for 'DVI connector'. You will see there are DVI-I, DVI-D, and DVI-A connectors - and that they are all different. Knowing exactly what type of DVI connector you need will help avoid unnecessary delays due to the wrong item being ordered.

Beware that it is not enough to just order the first 'DVI cable' you find without knowing what type of DVI connector you need.

In this case, I needed a DVI-A to VGA cable, and that is what was sent. It fits and works perfectly and the price was a third of what the local computer store wanted.
5.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Great product, is what it's advertised, and "not mac compatible" dingusheads please read and research your claims! 29 de diciembre de 2015

It's a good replacement to using an adapter and anyone who downvoted it for not being "Mac compatible" or the incorrect cable needs to take some time reading and learning about the different types of DVI cables and connectors. Anyone who says a cable like this is not Mac compatible is probably just another nontechnical apple fanboy who truly believes having an apple on something makes it superior and noncompatible with reasonably priced products. That's a nice way of saying they think they're smarter than they really are. It's a cable and since a Mac IS a PC it IS compatable with a DVI port as long as you are connecting a dvi-a or dvi-i output to a vga monitor/tv input and not the other way around. It's a lot simpler than many people make it out to be. Macs aren't that special since they're PCs with intel technology largely(you silly silly people) If you need a DVI-D cable this is not the place to look. and you can't convert an analog VGA output into a Digital DVI-D input. Pay attention to what you're buying and what you're doing and stop giving bad reviews because you did something without thinking or researching.

I have an Nvidia GTX 660 Ti...and those don't come with VGA ports. Hence, it was necessary to buy one of these cables.

1. It works. I plugged it into an old VGA monitor (I use it as a second monitor where I throw chat windows, my ever-open email browser tab, various other windows) and it lit right up. No flicker or nastiness. Nice, crisp picture...well as crisp as VGA can get.

2. It's 10 feet long. I actually didn't realize this when I ordered it but the second VGA monitor is to the left of my giant primary monitor and I had worries that the cable wouldn't work. Then I got it and realized it was 10ft long. No worries there.

3. The little things that screw the connectors into the monitor/back of PC are very easy to tighten and loosen. The little knobs are about 2 times as long as conventional ones.

4. It's cheap. Under $15 and it spared me having to buy a DVI/HDMI monitor (for now). Woot!

1. None, really.

Assuming this cable holds up, this is a great product. It does what it says it does (and make sure you know what connectors you actually need before buying one, because giving it a 1-star review because you didn't need this particular kind of DVI is user error, not manufacturer error you can clearly see it in the picture and in the product description. Read and view both before buying).

I have 2 monitors again. Life feels complete. Would buy this again and recommend to others in a similar spot.

4 Stars for quality of cable and heads, unable to rate sound/video since it was incompatible with my monitor.
1 Star for Amazon on the description of this item.

This is a decent quality DVI-A to VGA cable.

However, you must check your display (and adapter) to see if you need DVI-A before ordering this cable. There are six different DVI connection types.

If you are using a MacBook Pro with the mini-display port DVI adapter you need a DVI-D to VGA cable. THIS CABLE WILL NOT WORK with your mini-display port DVI adapter.

I wanted to hook up my CRT monitor to my PC, but I really hate putting those DVI to VGA converters on my video card, so I just decided to get this cable to better ensure a secure connection. In case you are wondering what resolution/refresh rate I have run with this cable, I used to run 1800x1350@95Hz, but now I run 1600x1200@95Hz since I get more consistent frame rates in games with that.
