5.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Rating is for the series, NOT the packaging!!!!!! 13 de julio de 2014

Well, I got lucky, the discs were indeed scratched like everyone says they are, but mine had very light scratches and after some research on the internet, a bottle of windex and a microfiber cloth I was able to clean them up enough to watch all ten seasons without a single episode having any issues with skipping/freezing. The packaging is atrocious and its almost unfathomable that Amazon continues to allow this to happen to their valued customers... what a violation!!
4.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas I Really Missed Jack 20 de febrero de 2015

While I love SG-1, in season 10 Jack (Richard Dean Anderson) is no longer a regular character. I miss him and what he added to the show. He was the nexus, having a unique relationship with each of the other main characters which developed over 9 years. His replacement (Ben Browder) while very good in his own rite, simply could fill the void Anderson left behind. As a result the interpersonal relationships which (I feel) gave the show depth suffered.

I feel the producers knew this would happen and adapted. Season 10's episodes were more about the individuals or twosomes as opposed to the entire team. Their foresight made season 10 unique, as opposed to trying to make Browder be an Anderson clone. Hats off to Browder for tackling what he must have known would be a really tough gig. The character he created in Season 10 stands on it own.

While season 10 was entertaining, it was not the SG-1 I was accustomed to. I liked it but not 5 stars worth.

This series that lasted only ten seasons is at the top of my favorites.
If you have watched this from the beginning then you probably know the cast and plots could not have been put together any better.
You can feel the connection, feelings, and care the crew has for each other.
I love to kick back and watch an episode thinking what it would be like to travel like that. It is almost as if this is real and possible, but then who is to say it isn't.
I really enjoy SG-1 as well as SGA. I highly recommend this and if you are new to the show then you are in for a real treat.
The only regret I have is there is only so many episodes.
5.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Great sci fi series that stands the test of time! 12 de mayo de 2015

I bought this instead of the 10-season set because (a) it was cheaper to buy each season separately and (b) there were reviews of the 10-season set complaining of poorly manufactured disc retainers allowing the discs to be loose and scratched during shipping. The individual season sets do not suffer from this issue.

I loved all 10 seasons of this series, and have enjoyed many episodes more than once, so it was only logical to purchase the entire set to watch again in the future. It's an excellent sci-fi series with immersive plot arcs embedded across the series combined with well-done, entertaining individual episode plots that are easily able to stand on their own. The characters and the story are equally compelling, due to both quality writing and great acting.

If I could make one change about the series, I would have kept Richard Dean Anderson's character in a more prominent role throughout, but I recognize that actors sometimes have to move on. While Ben Browder took some getting used to (mostly just because I missed Anderson's presence), he filled his role well and the series continued to thrive as a result.
5.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Asgards' scepter/sword, Merlin's quest, and Carter's secret chord 24 de julio de 2015

This was a great season! When the Ori were introduced as the primary antagonists I began to think SG-1 was headed south. But there were a ton of redeeming moments, and an excellent finish to this season, which began with a kind of "Lord of the Rings" feel (in one episode they literally fight a dragon.) Episode six had some great comedy. Episode 13 was dark and thought provoking. Daniel becoming a Prior in Ep. 14 was an interesting twist. Ba'al proves himself the cleverest of Gould in Ep. 19.

The best Episode perhaps by far of all the SG-1's is Episode 20. This episode is the swan song of the Asgard. It is also a time warp/manipulation episode in which the writers took full advantage to develop the characters. Daniel and Vala spend a lifetime together, Carter explores her creative/artistic/musical side, and Teal'c is privy in the end to it all, which of course makes him more of an enigma to the rest of the team.
