El tablero está muy bien acabado y con detalles de artesania.
Las piezas también de madera con detalles que demuestran que estan hechas a mano.

No recomiendo su compra, tablero y piezas de muy mala calidad, se deslizan literalmente por el tablero, piezas que no pesan nada lo que hace que mover una hagan que se caigan las demás. Procedo a su devolución.

Images on product description looks that board is made from higher end material than it actually is. In real life it looks much darker and cheaper. I think for a price its not the worst board you can buy, but low rating is given just because advertisement makes you think you are getting kinda different product.

Pieces as well is not weighted so i dont think in any wind it is possible to play outside and they can be quite irritating to play inside as well, but i don't think (or maybe it did?) advert said that they are, so it just annoying and not that it was misleading as well.

I got this chess set to just have around the house for the occasional casual game with friends. For £20 I felt really disappointed with the cheap feeling of the set. The pieces have no weight to them, so if you knock the board the pieces all move around. Everything also just feels very "plastic-y", moving the pieces around doesn't feel satisfying.

I really wouldn't recommend this for the money.

This chess set is simple and functional. Here are the pros and cons of the set:

Pros:
- the set is compact and very lightweight, yet, it is large enough for comfortable playing (not too small and not too large.) You get about 12"×12" of game space
- the sides/edges of the board have a nice filigree design, giving it some added interest
- the board, when folded close, acts as the case for the pieces making it ideal for travel
- there is a cut-out foam section on each inner half of the case to insulate and protect the chess pieces (so they're not rolling around inside the case when travelling)
- there are extra queen pieces (one of each color) for pawn promotions
- the board lies flat when set up and there is no gap between each side of the board (where the center hinges are) making for comfortable play
- the board has the notation letters and numbers in the proper place, so it's easy to take note of game plays or the movement of each piece during play

Cons:
- the craftsmanship of the game pieces are inconsistent. Most of the pieces look like how they are supposed to look, but some pieces have better details than others. Ex. The carved eyes on one of the knight pieces is faded (less pronounced) than on the other. Also, there is no angled cut at the top of the bishop pieces (i.e. the cut that is supposed to represent bishop's miter/hat)
- there are little scratches/scuff marks on the board and pieces, but, I think these little imperfections are what gives this set its character/ruggedness
- although, this is a travel set, a flat unmoving surface is required for play. The pieces and the board are not magnetic so the pieces will not stay on the board if the board is angled/moved
- the board and pieces are very lightweight, so those who are looking for pieces that are more substantial and weighty, you may need to look elsewhere
- one may have to switch the sides of the pieces. I was taught that the correct side to set up is when the white queen is on a white square and when the black queen is on a black square, however, how this set was originally organized, the pieces are on the wrong side. I also noticed this mistake on the ad photos: the pieces are on the wrong sides. It's an easy enough fix, so no harm done

All in all, this is a good set for the price. I don't think you will find a wooden, travel chess set of this quality for cheaper elsewhere. If you're not super picky about aesthetics and want a simple, functional chess set that you can keep in a backpack and not worry too much about, this one is for you. If you want a piece of art where every piece is perfectly crafted, you may need to look elsewhere and at a much higher price point.

I am happy with this purchase: it gets the job done.

I spent a long time looking at reviews as the games I used to love as a child have become very cheap... I was keen to go for a proper wooden chess set and this delivers well. It is a self contained chess box, with a proper latch to close and fasten, the peaces are stored within the box in soft foam.

The chess board is of a decent size and a great set to start kids off with. I purchased this set for my 6 year old son who has a real interest after playing a huge outdoor set while on holiday and managed to learn the basics. We got an extra Queen with our set, not entirely sure why. When playing though, I often mistake the Queen for the Bishop, the two are very similar looking, the Queen being a little larger but this has more than once cost me the game.

Would I recommend it - yes, its a great place to let those with an interest learn more about it before moving onto something bigger.

A good solid starter set

For the price it is excellent. The pieces lack detail and definition but can still be easily identified. I like that the set comes with an extra Queen in case a pawn makes it through enemy lines (never happened to me I must say). The bits are a bit slidey on the board and construction is basic (no sweeping it dramatically to the floor after unfair losses). But as I say, for the price its a lovely little set and the minor gripes wouldn't stop me buying one for my other nephew (if the little toerag can get his head out of Fortnite for 10 seconds)
