La barbacoa ahumadora Tepro Wichita es la forma perfecta para que los nuevos se metan a fumar o para entusiastas con espacio limitado. Tiene todo lo que necesitas para empezar a fumar trozos grandes de carne, en una pequeña barbacoa de 115 cm.

El termómetro que se incorpora en la tapa te ayuda a mantener la temperatura perfecta para fumar de 80 a 130 °C. Por supuesto, puede levantar la tapa y utilizarla como parrilla de barbacoa directa.
Para mantener el aspecto de tu ahumador Tepro Wichita es lo mejor, está acabado con un revestimiento resistente al calor de 350 °C y cuenta con asas de acero cromado.

La cámara lateral viene con una rejilla de cocción de 22,5 x 30,5 cm (aprox), por lo que puedes utilizarla como parrilla para barbacoa pequeña o informal por sí sola. Sostiene 0,5 Kg de carbón vegetal.

Por desgracia al llegar...estaba en muy mal estado , la tapa de la barbacoa no encajaba para cerrarla ya que presentaba un gran abollon , imagino que por el transporte....duró poco pa ilusión como la de un niño al abrir un regalo... Fue abrir la caja y verlo el estado en la o que llegó y tramitar la devolución. Me estraña que se haya aboyado con tanta facilidad ya que al tacto parecía bastante resistente imagino que sí hibirlera llegado en buen estado habría sido muy buena bbq.
He podido hacer las típicas recetas de ahumados (costillas, pulled pork, brisket...) y el resultado ha sido fantástico.
Lo único que mejoraria del ahumador es la altura en la que se depositan las brasas ya que al haber poco espacio al cabo de unas 2 horas se llena de ceniza por lo que dificulta la ventilación de aire, la manera que yo lo he solucionado es colocando dos soportes en lugar de uno, por lo que se aumenta la altura de la brasa.
En resum totalmente recomendable para hacer ahumardos sin gastarse un dineral y sin renunciar a la típica barbacoa donde se coloca la carne directamente sobre la brasa

Como barbacoa no tenía dudas.
Como horno me ha gustado.
He hecho muslos de pollo, pizza... Todo horneado. No me fiaría mucho del termómetro. Todo a ojo. Muy buen resultado. Importante extender bien las brasas, si no se hace más de un lado. Lo demás es ensayo y error.
El montaje fue fácil y viene hiper bien señalizado todo. Solo mencionar que la bandeja exterior queda como rara con las varillas de sujeción inferiores. No parece que el metal esté al ángulo que necesita estar para que la bandeja quede plana.
Llevamos 4 o 5 meses con la barbacoa en casa y raro es el fin de senana que no hagamos algo. Es fácil de usar y con las ruedas súper facil de transportar. Compramos tb una funda y la recomiendo muuuucho. En cuanto a la limpieza, decir que es tan importante la funda como limpiarla y adecuarla después de cada uso. Nosotros esperamos como mucho hasta la mañana siguiente, pero dejarla a la intemperie sucia seguro que no ayuda a que dure.

The smoker arrived, I cleaned the part's with some soapy water before putting it all together, then seasoned it with some cooking oil as the instructions and every YouTube video say's.
The instructions are rather poor just a bunch of pictures with screws labelled as different sizes, but the screws and nut's are all in the same bag with no labels, not separated so that you know which are which size etc.
It included 3 grill plates with no explanation of where they go or what to use them for as they are to small to be used for anything really.
After the seasoning I cleaned out the used coal's and gave it a quick wipe down with just hot water, and I noticed the paint had started to burn away, but thought nothing off it because well this is the first time use, I thought there won't be any harm.
Put some fresh coal in and get it lit, got the fire up to 250F and put a Beef Brisket on and a Pork Butt, and started to Smoke them, the meat cost more than this smoker did!
After about 6 hours I noticed a bad smell, so I pulled the meat off the smoker, took it inside and wow the meat smelt so bad with a really bad chemical almost burnt petroleum jelly/diesel smell.
I thought well let's taste a little bit of the beef and it was so bad and tasted like I had just put diesel in my mouth, that I threw it in the bin and ended up ordering a take away for the family instead.
The meat though had smelt fine all day it was only at around the 6 hour mark that it started to smell funny.
This was with using lumpwood charcoal, and Hickory wood, the coal is the same stuff that we have been using for years from a place my brother get's it from and we use it on BBQ's all the time, it's never produced a smell or taste like what that beef and pork smelt or tasted like.
I also only used normal BBQ coal fire lighters the little white blocks and I used 2 of them to get the coals lit, as that is all that was needed as I started with a small amount of coal got that going and then added some more once the initial lot was lit.
The next day I went out and cleaned it out, and got to cleaning with some soapy water in the hope that it would get rid of the chemical smell but it didn't, we even fired up the normal BBQ and put some burgers on it, that day using the rest of the coal out of the bag, that had been used on the smoker and it was perfectly fine.
So I got some more coal and threw it in the firebox and cranked the heat up to around the 400F mark and left it burning for 12 hours and put some wood in it for a overnight slow burn, in the hope it would burn out the smell or chemical's or what ever it was that caused the smell.
Came to it the next morning and the coal's and wood had gone out but the smell remained, so I got to cleaning it again with some soapy water, just normal dish soap (fairy) and thoroughly cleaned it with hot soapy water.
Then I noticed the paint has gone like it is in the photo's above and it's started to rust.
So lesson learned just because on some thing's you can pay a cheaper price and get a decent product, it's like the old saying "You Get What You Pay For" in this case, what your paying for a is a low quality product that is quite frankly not fit for sale as to me it's a health hazard, the paint should not be burning away from normal smoker/BBQ temps, and the meat should not be getting filled with what smelt like poisonous fumes.
Thankfully in this instance, my brother is a mechanical engineer so we are going to take this as inspiration of how to build our own, but to far better standards and quality than this has been made.
I would have requested a refund but frankly I don't want some poor delivery driver, having to put up with the smell of this thing in there van as it will give them quite a head ache, which I have been suffering with one ever since I started to clean this after the meat smelt bad.
My brother has taken this to a place where he can sand blast it, and then remove the couple of weld's holding it together and redo them all so it doesn't leak smoke like a colander, and then once that is done he is going to coat it with a rust prevention spray that is not only safe to use on BBQ's but will withstand heats a lot higher than this would produce, and then we are going to try it with a small piece of meat and see how it goes.
We are not though using this for a family BBQ because we just don't feel it's safe to do so in it's current condition.
All in all I would highly recommend people not to buy this and spend a bit extra and get a better product, something from the Landmann range or save some extra cash and get something better like the Old Country ones.

I first saw this product on sale in Homebase but they only had the display model left. After checking online, I saw it was cheaper on Amazon and ordered it here.
The construction of the BBQ is fairly solid. It's a lot more robust than some of the other offset smokers I've seen (such as the Landmann offset smoker at a similar price - although the design looks very similar).
It does require to people to assemble as it's a little bit awkward to build, but with a friend, mine was fully assembled in 45 mins.
There's a handy shelf on the front and despite the smokers weight, it's quite easy to manoeuvre around with the side handle.
The smoking/cooking chamber itself is a good size. There was plenty of width/length space for a water pan, a large joint of meat and still space left!
If you are planning on smoking huge joints of meat (we did a 5kg pork shoulder), it may be worth removing the warming shelf in the smoking chamber - it was about 2cm too low and was pushing on our pork!
Quality wise, it's ok - whilst it's heavy and the build feels solid, after a couple of uses, I have noticed some of the paint peeling or bubbling on the bottom of the firebox (so I gave it a quick coat of oil which should help keep it rust free once it has been 'baked' on when cooking). However, for £75, if it lasts three years (which it will do easily), it's a bargain. I think next summer I will give it a top up coat on the exterior of high temperature paint.
You may see a beige coloured Tepro cover in the "Bought with this item" section on Amazon - I recommend you buy it! One brief stint of rain and the small hinges on top of the firebox were showing small spots of orange rust (I cleaned and oiled it and it's fine now).

A few tips for those who have bought (or are planning to buy this smoker):
- do not expect to build and begin instantly. Once your smoker is assembled, you will need to season it for around 3 hours by coating the inside with cooking oil and then getting some lumpwood/briquettes going in the firebox (the temperature and full instructions for seasoning are included with this smoker). This will help increase the life of your smoker.
- If you are struggling to get the temperature up for a slightly faster/hotter cook, leave the door on the side of the firebox ajar about 1cm (be careful to ensure your charcoal is not resting against it and doesn't fall out).
- get a digital thermometer. My first experience smoking a pork shoulder, my friend brought around his digital probe thermometer (Therm-Pro TP20 - amazing, I think it's my next purchase) and mounted one probe to the inside of the smoking chamber next to the meat joint and one inside the pork shoulder. The chamber thermometer was reading very different to the lid thermometer in the smoker, which shows temperature inside the chamber varies.
Overall, a great buy and at this price, you really can't go wrong!
