I know this figure is a very dissapointing representation of Bulkhead. But please take the time to read this and see if you want to give the Powerizer Bulkhead a shot. I'm actually happy I took the jump. Granted nothing will compare to the Bulkhead First Edition, but this is a good substitute.

Well start off with vehicle mode. Bulkhead transforms into a modified Renault Duster.Vehicle mode looks great. Absolutley great. The only problem I have is that the side windows are painted dark green. The best we could have got would be dark translucent plastic like the windshield. It would have been nice if hasbro at least painted the windows dark gray. Other than that vehicle mode holds together really well and rolls great too if properly transformed. Nothing really obstucts rolling.

Transformation is pretty fun. Not nearly as complex as the first edition making this one a prime choice for parents. The reason I say that is because this Bulkhead won't be broken in three minutes or less.Transformation is fairly simple barrowing a couple gimmicks from the First Edition but simplified. The Poerizer Bulkhead is great for kids. With the First Edition in a kids hands under just threw away 200 bucks. While I'm on that topic this is a far more cheaper version than the First Edition and a good substitute.

Onto robot mode. This is where things get kinda bad. Robot mode holds together really well. Decently poseable. But the screen accuraccy is horrid. You can tell it's Bulkhead but he doesn't look the same. The wheels on the back should rotate around behind the shoulders instead of being close to his bot butt. The headlights should be behind the doors on the chest...not at the waist. I think what bugs me the most is that he's just not bulky enough. The FE was perfect. But this one looks like Bulkhead has lost some weight. Overall not a bad substitute but we all know Hasbro could have done way better.

As for the powerizer weapon. I know some hate it. I actually think it's kinda cool. It's not like the plug in energon hammer but the way it functions Hasbro achieved what the powerizer gimmick should look like. Unlike the previous Powerizers released, when activated it actually looks like energy flowing through his arms. Here's an even cooler powerizer gimmick. If you mount the weapon to the 5 mm hole in his back and pull back the lever, it looks like energy flowing up from his chest. Pretty darn cool Hasbro! I give you props there.

Overall the Powerizer Bulkhead is a decent cheaper alternative to the FE. Collectors definitley save your money for the FE. Don't waste your time with this one unless your collecting all. Parents, this is the one for your kids. Easy to transform and way more durable than the FE

Bulkhead is one heavy hitter!I do own the first edition Bulkhead and can honestly say this is one cool Powerizer version that does the transformer prime series proud all around. This version is almost as good as the first edition with cooler weaponary. The only big difference between the two is intricate detail and weaponary.Just because one has first edition on the box doesen't mean it is that much better to where you should have to pay an arm and leg for a few minor differences when the quality is the same. The first edition has better detail on the windows in armored truck mode and the headlight sections on the chest are positioned higher up in robot mode which gives Bulkhead a more bulky look. The powerizer edition the windows are a solid green color with the front windshield being clear for armored truck mode. The headlight sections in robot mode are positioned lower near the waist which gives Bulkhead a more sleek look in robot mode. The first edition has a wrecking ball attachment which is more prime series realistic in robot mode, but is boring at the same time compared to the powerizer version. The powerizer version comes with 2 weapons in a snap-on battle arm and a glowing wrecking ball attachment that spins with better realistic action.Bulkhead has awesome prime series detail and articulation whether in robot or amored truck mode for a realistic series look. The poseability is outstanding with great stability for creating cool battle scenes or displaying where you please. The durability is excellent as well with secure joints and a solid build in either mode. All pieces are constructed well and stay firmly together when in armored truck mode while the glowing wrecking ball and snap-on battle arm connect together to make a combined weapon that attaches to the roof. The transformation level is intermediate meaning if you have plenty of experience with transformers there is mid-level difficulty. If you are a parent buying for a child of 5-6 they might need some help in the transformation process.Bulkhead is very versatile for most ages with practice. This is a great version of Bulkhead that all transformer fans will enjoy.I highly recommend Transformer Prime Powerizer Bulkhead to all transformer fans and collectors out there.Bulkhead Rocks and Transformers Rule!!!

I bought this bulkhead for my son who is an avid transformers fan. I would recommend this bulkhead to a collector and would not bother buying it for a child. It looks wonderful but is a huge pain to transform. My husband and I both were scratching our heads trying read the instructions to transform him back and forth for our son because he couldn't quite get it. We eventually got it but a lot of the smaller pieces snap off(they're designed to snap off because there's no way to get him transformed without accidentally snapping some of them out of place) so easily while it's being transformed that they get loose after a couple transformations. Even after a "correct" transformation, the SUV version of bulkhead doesn't fit together quite right.

Basically, this toy is an expensive head ache.

It's unusual to see a voyager class more wide than tall... On purpose... But it's so fitting.

As a transformer, he's great. I usually keep him in robot mode. It's far more convincing and his alt mode is so complicated that he became the first of over a hundred transformers I actually forgot how to transform. This includes bayformers.

That being said, his weapon... Not show accurate at all, nor is it practical. I usually keep it on his back.

He is nicely articulated, and I love having him in my collection. It's also very impressive to see his jaw move. Nice touch.

As other reviews have stated, this is a bit complicated to transform, but I wouldn't say it's as impossible as the bad reviews claim. The mistake they made was getting this toy for a kid who's too young and/or doesn't have a knack for this kind of toy. Ignore the manufacturer's claim that this is a good toy for a 5/6 year old, they probably just say that to sell more toys, I'd say the minimum age is a little higher than that.

So if you get this for a slightly older kid or your kid is adept at learning and figuring out these kinds of toys go for it because otherwise this is an awesome toy. Many of the Transformers Prime series of toys are untrue to the look of the characters in the actual show, but this one is spot-on for Bulkhead, plus they have his awesome wrecking ball attachment. Take it from an avid fan in her early 20s that this is one of the better Transformers toys put out recently and fans of all ages will probably love it...just maybe save it 'til your kid is about 9 or 10.

P.S. Get your daughters to watch Transformers Prime, I'm sick of people only buying these toys for boys!
