Reseña del editor
Bizarre rituals on a remote island in Maine. My crazy neighbor lying naked in the produce section of a grocery store. The sting of a knife as it slices through my flesh. Now I know why they say life is never easy. The soft touch of Tria’s hand against my chest is the only thing that keeps me going, but there are consequences. As a fighter, I should be able to deal with anything life throws at me, but there is one circumstance I simply can’t handle. I only have one coping mechanism: a tube around my arm and a needle in my vein.

This is definitely a book that requires you read the first, or it won’t really work. There’s forward movement in Liam and Tria’s relationship and glimpses of Tria’s past, as well as Liam’s demons, so there are some key scenes that give forward progress to the overall tale.
Settles into the day to day ...maybe too much: However, I think the main problem I had with this was that there’s alot of downtime between those key scenes. There were nice enough, but it was pretty easy to put this down and read other things and once I knew that there was nothing substantial to hit until the end, I was just meandering along with the characters.
Liam’s fall is desperately needed: What’s sad is that I was waiting for Liam to mess up huge, if only because he was getting on my nerves. If he was a heroine, I can guarantee he would be roasted over the coals for his short temper, inability to deal with his feelings and tendency to run whenever the going gets tough. I sympathized with Tria and just wanted him to get his head out of his ass and get the show on the road.
The Bottom Line
It was ok and I liked parts of it, even if I didn’t enjoy it as much as the first book. Reserving decision on the series until I read the final book in the trilogy, but this feels like a bridge book and not something that works much on its own.
By: Shay Savage
At the end of book one, Caged, we were left on a cliffhanger back in Tria’s hometown, where a sacred ritual (to conceive a baby) was about to be performed. Liam disagreed with it, but was there to support and protect Tria from being brainwashed into staying. As it turns out, it was a very good thing that Liam was there for Tria because of the mental abuse that she suffered from those who claimed to know her & love her the most. Liam was there to pull her out of her own mind, and to stand guard between her and those who helped raise her.
Liam & Tria are both withholding their pasts and guarding their secrets. But ever since they were back in Tria’s hometown, Liam learned more of Tria’s secrets and Tria actually does open up to him and tells him about her mom, her dad, her childhood & then growing up within the clan. She bares her heart to him and lets him see her deepest hurt.
Liam lets Tria into his life a little more, but he doesn’t share his deepest secret with her, as it is just too painful for him to relive. But as a reader, we are given more information, and though it isn’t the entire story, we know enough to know that it was utterly heartbreaking and it almost destroyed Liam. Eventually he was able to overcome, but it is something that he can’t revisit for his own sanity and to prevent him from falling off the wagon & becoming a junkie again. But not facing this traumatic event head-on has the possibility to derail his train entirely.
Liam’s family has a role in this book and the interactions are beyond intense. There are a lot of hurt feelings, regret & despair. Tria is the type of girl who tries to smooth things over and make everything okay, but the divide between Liam and his family is deep and painful. When and if they decide to bury the hatchet, it’ll take brutally honest communication and probably years of therapy. After the interactions with his family, Liam clams up about the past.
For those who were worried about having sexual encounters in this book, because there wasn’t any sex in the first book, need not be concerned because Shay Savage brought the heat in this book! Liam and Tria are hot together!
This book does end on a cliffy, but the last installment of this book is due to be released in less than a week, so you won’t have too long to wait!
Reviewing for Restless Book Obsession
There's fighting and sex and laughter and angst and a couple of places you'll want to scream at Liam! Because I did.
