MILSPEC: Trident's website and amazon say the case meets rain/dust/sand/drop for the milspec tests. However, the package the phone came in only says "scratch resistant, drop protection, dust filters" and doesn't even mention anywhere that it meets MILSPEC. i don't know, that seems weird that they wouldn't print MILSPEC all over the box.
Despite everyone else's complaints about the button-press I think the buttons press fine. The screen protector does make you screen "pixel-ey" or "orange-peel". It also slides out of your pocket OK, but not "easily" or even close to the plain phone or a plain plastic case. The corners are sticky-silicon.
UPDATE: The USB/charger rubber port cover has detached from the hard plastic back. This is going to be returned.
I Personally removed the screen protector that comes with it very easily.
What makes this so appealing to me is how slim it is, yet protective. Most cases add way too much girth, this one keeps it very consecutive.
Corner bumpers are great for when you drop it, and the lip on the screen edge is big enough to prevent damage.
My phone when through hell over about a year and a half of use, then a corner broke and I got another.
Over time the rubber in front of the ports will give more and lose up a bit but they still work.
The biggest problem I had was over time the small plastic pegs that hold the top and bottom together would give out and not hold tight anymore, which got annoying in some places but this is extended use up to a year.
1) The Biggest Problem: The Power and Volume buttons on the case are VERY hard to press. I've tried reaseating the phone several times, but to me it seems that the plastic rim that holds the screen protector in place gets in the way of the buttons.
2) Headphone port is too small. You will need to make sure your headphone plug is a slim type. Anything larger won't fit.
3) Charging port is too small. Luckily the included white samsung charger that came with the GS4 works fine. But probably like many other folks, I too have a various micro usb chargers and anything larger than the charger included with the GS4 doesn't fit.
With that all said, if you pay full price for this case, I think you should look else where or wait for Trident to fix the buttons. Don't get me wrong, the quality of the case; the build quality, design, and details are top notch. But keep in mind, you WILL need to interact with the power and volume buttons EVERYTIME you use your phone.
