Reseña del editor
User experience (UX) strategy requires a careful blend of business strategy and UX design, but until now, there hasn’t been an easy-to-apply framework for executing it. This hands-on guide introduces lightweight strategy tools and techniques to help you and your team craft innovative multi-device products that people want to use.
Whether you’re an entrepreneur, UX/UI designer, product manager, or part of an intrapreneurial team, this book teaches simple-to-advanced strategies that you can use in your work right away. Along with business cases, historical context, and real-world examples throughout, you’ll also gain different perspectives on the subject through interviews with top strategists.
- Define and validate your target users through provisional personas and customer discovery techniques
- Conduct competitive research and analysis to explore a crowded marketplace or an opportunity to create unique value
- Focus your team on the primary utility and business model of your product by running structured experiments using prototypes
- Devise UX funnels that increase customer engagement by mapping desired user actions to meaningful metrics

I've been searching for a book that clearly outlines the process from start to finish for validating a business idea, and this book does exactly that. It explains how to take an idea from concept to either kill, pivot, or execution, which makes for an easy-to-follow approach to UX strategy.
The first time through the book, I highlighted and bookmarked pages; the second time through I will use it as a guide with my next client; and each time thereafter I will use it as a reference. This book will never see Goodwill; it will be a definite go-to in my library.
What I particularly liked about this book is that is truly all anyone needs to get started. Jaime does an excellent job explaining her process, which she's used for over 20 years, which therein lies a lot of value. Where else can you find such a treasure trove of helpful information? Without this book, I would be spending a lot more time troubleshooting the process. Why reinvent the wheel when this book is available to you?
The book is very well written with a straight to the point writing style and a wide variety of examples that helps readers see how the UX concepts are implemented in real life. I appreciated the chapters’ opening stories and their lesson learned paragraphs that served as a great introduction to every topic.
The true added value of this UX strategy book is that you can equally learn from it whether you are looking to learning the overall concepts of UX, product and business strategy or if you’re looking for a step by step manual for implementing a UX strategy project effectively.
Conclusion: Must read for all product, business, and UX professionals out there.
This book contains powerful, well-known methods for building great products in a readable format. At it's core, this is a book about *Product* Strategy. I think the ideas here could apply to nearly any kind of product / service you want to build.
