If there's one thing Casey has always wanted, it's to be a mother But there's no one she'd like to be the father And unfortunately she's taken the words of a long-dead doctor Dr. Francine Pascal Reid (1941) to heart: "A woman's prime period of fertility occurs between the years of 22 and 28...after the age of 37, a woman should not attempt to conceive." Time is running out for her, or so she believes, and her (obsessive) determination won't let her listen to her friends telling her she has lots of time. But what to do about the epic relationship fails that dot her past like freckles on a redhead? Casey has a plan and it involves the best ex-boyfriend who she ever broke up with; who, with perfect rom-com timing, has just walked into her life. But what about that night with her roommate J.B...? What Readers are Saying 5 Stars!! "I would definitely recommend Unexpected (Baby! Baby? Baby?!) It was delightful, funny and entertaining." "Perfect for a bath and wine, or a read on the beach. Be warned, though, that I picked it up and finished it the next day. I was hooked." "The first sentence made me laugh out loud." Find out how Casey deals with the unexpected in Unexpecting

What a fun read! I might not be baby-obsessed, but I thought Casey was extremely relatable. I also thought the book she is reading, A Young Woman's Guide to the Joy of Impending Motherhood (written in the 1940's) was hysterical. I loved the tidbits to start off each chapter, and plenty of those had me rolling. Casey's journey was really fun to follow, through all the crazy ups and downs that her story takes us on. At times I thought Casey was bit too...slow to catch on to what was happening, but regardless, I really had a blast reading about her. The supporting cast each have their little moment as well and really added a lot to the overall story. One I would recommend!
*There were some spelling and grammar errors. It wasn't as bad as other books I have read, but they were pretty noticeable.
*I didn't feel invested in any of the characters, so if something bad happened to them in the book, I wouldn't feel a tug on my heartstrings type of feeling. It was almost like maybe they were one-dimensional. We don't really get to see/read the main male lead's thoughts/feelings until the end, so I am not sure if they really love each other, other than the fact that they say they love each other.
There is some cursing in the book, but if you can gloss over that fact then I would highly recommend reading this book. The book reminds me of the movie "The Back-up Plan" except a little different and has a tiny twist, but still the predictable HEA.
Would I recommend this book? Yes, I would, unless you are bothered by cursing or the slightest grammatical or spelling errors, but I feel like you would be missing out.

I thought this story was very interesting, and I like that it broached the subject of artificial insemination, not something you often read about in novels. It was very interesting to read about how Casey came to that decision, and the reactions she received from her loved ones. I also really liked the setting of where Casey lived. She lived in a large house with three of her friends, and it sounded like quite a fun set up to me! The characters were strong, with very distinct personalities. I felt strong reactions to several of them, particularly her self-centered, soon to be married friend, Brit (she was so rude!). All of this said, there were a lot of things I really enjoyed about this novel!
One downside was that it was somewhat slow moving for me. I think it felt that way because I had a hard time relating to Casey and this story. While I plan on having babies of my own someday, I’m not yet at the stage where Casey is, who is quite desperate to get pregnant and right now. I think if I had been at that stage in my life, I would have enjoyed this novel better. I’m definitely going to pass this on to my pregnant sister-in-law next – I think she’ll love it because she will totally be able to relate to Casey! Holly Kerr is definitely a talented writer, and even though I didn’t click 100% with this particular story, I will definitely read whatever else she writes!
