After using the unit for about 3 weeks now:
He can hear people better than before when just talking on the phone itself. When others talk to him, they all comment on how clear he sounds. "It sounds like you're in the room with me" is the most popular comment. There is NO truck noise/CB noise/wind noise when windows are down. None! he loves the headset, and already has friends who plan on ordering the same model. He said that the headset is more comfortable than he expected. He is able to wear it for long periods of time...which he didn't plan on doing before he ordered.
I did hesitate to purchase this because I was told by Amazon (on chat) that the item doesn't come with a charger. I was told that I would have to purchase chargers separately. Thanks to the previous reviewer, I found out otherwise and made the purchase. I would like to clarify that this item came with a home charger AND a car charger. Hopefully they will update the listing.
Pros: It arrived on time, and it's a very cool black color instead of the previous version's blue.
1. The seller, Quantum Wireless, sent me two emails begging me for a review. They even asked me to call them if I had a negative experience, but left the phone number blank in both emails. The email very clearly stated:
"Please let us know what we can do for you by replying to this email or by reaching us toll-free at ."
Seriously. No phone number. This is worse than spam it's so worthless. I emailed them explaining my problems and received no response. Very poor customer service.
2. The headset uses words instead of the beeps in the previous version. This is annoying. You might think it's ok, I hate it.
3. The most important part, the sound, is just plain awful. It's tinny and almost unbearable, and on the other end of the conversation it is fully unbearable. The few conversations that I attempted with the new headset ended with the person on the other end saying "either take off the headset or I'm hanging up." Maybe I got a bad headset, or maybe they did a cost saving redesign that ruined the sound, either way I'm shopping for a different headset.
I don't like giving one star reviews. They have to earn them. This headset is very expensive compared to other brands, and frankly I expect a quality product, not a load of garbage. The reseller should never send out an email, much less two, begging for a five star review, and then leave the phone number blank. Essentially, I bought a worthless item. It has absolutely no value to me. I wish that I could give it zero starts.
I have enclosed a video with this review to demonstrate what the headset looks like and how it sounds.
