Now, I fully confess to being a Shakespeare "geek", so of course this book was of particular interest to me. That said, I would strongly recommend it to anyone curious about, or new to, the incredible world of Shakespeare. Here is a book that truly serves a multitude of purposes: to inform and instruct, to examine and elucidate, to entertain and amaze, and- most important, in my opinion- to instill, rekindle, and reinforce in the reader a passion and appreciation for the work of the Immortal Bard. Mr. Buchanan's great personal passion and respect for Shakespeare is nothing short of inspiring and catching.
The Preface is a brilliant jumping-off point to this masterful and inventive presentation of Shakespeare's legendary "Scottish play". It is here that one encounters the author's convincing declaration of the undeniability of Shakespeare being the sole author of the works credited to him. We are informed that genius is never necessarily the product of a higher education or elite station in life. Also discussed is how Shakespeare's works have been effectively "sucked dry" by stuffy academia and often baffling postmodern readings.
Here is a book that is truly a revelation- Macbeth revealed! I suggest you buy this book right now. You will not regret it!
