Reseña del editor

Finally...a self help book that recognizes the realities of the corporate world. Corporate America is populated with millions of middle managers whose current lot in life seems to be preordained. These middle managers go to work every day wondering how they can escape the mire that is middle management. They are further exasperated by the general belief that they are both smarter and more capable than their bosses. WIN-WIN MY ASS! is a unique, satirical self-help book that unconventionally tackles the sacred wisdom that states that dedication, teamwork and good deeds will ultimately be rewarded. WIN-WIN MY ASS! provides a targeted, well-planned assault to senior management by providing the reader with a series of tools and skills that facilitate an expedited climb to the top such as:  Effective Boss Management  Managing Travel for Personal and Professional Gain  Advancement Through Pretty Charts and Graphs  Risk Aversion Through Strategic Risk Taking  Job Title Sequencing This modern marvel of management methodology is a must read for the terminally upwardly mobile professional.

Biografía del autor

Ironically,Steven's career as a humorist began where most people lose their sense of humor; business school. As a senior writer for the Wharton Follies rendition of Willy Wharton and the MBA Factory, he was punished for his achievements by being named as co-head writer of the school's mega-hit, Alice in Whartonland. Now, as an M&A professional, he has daily opportunities to observe, study and assess the management teams of hundreds of companies

This book should be required reading at every business (undergraduate and graduate) program because it combines insight into a topic (getting ahead in the corporate world) that is not "academic," and therefore is not taught. Nevertheless, I imagine that most business students would realize the value of the book's content. The icing on the cake is that the book is (i) relatively short and therefore can be finished in no more than two or three hours (I read it while on a flight from NY to California), (ii) it is fun to read (the author uses intelligent humor), and (iii) the author provides numerous real life examples of how to implement his suggested techniques (I believe that examples are the best way to learn new information).

5.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas A Fun Read 25 de febrero de 2009

Sometimes it's nice just to have a fun read. This book is easy to read and presents an often dry topic in a fun and satirical way. While the book is positioned to be toungue in cheek, the accurate description of the politics of the work place hit very close to home. I actually learned a couple of things about climbing the corporate ladder. I have already given out several to friends as gifts.
5.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Refreshingly honest advice 13 de julio de 2014
Por G. Leicht - Publicado en Amazon.com
Tired of standing by, mystified, as incompetent others climb the corporate ladder? Then this (relatively) quick read is for you. Pinsky's advice flies in the face of what most other business/self-help books profess, and it's refreshingly honest (and funny too)! While some of the content might be common sense, it's all packaged in an organized and clever way, and does its job of driving home the point on which many of us need reminding: being "effective" at our jobs is not the same thing as being "successful" in our careers. (Now, I guess, I just have to figure out a way to break my good habits.) This book was helpful to me, and I've already recommended it to some friends, those who perpetually complain "My boss is an incompetent idiot."
