3.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Useful if you know it will fit your mobo, otherwise forget it. 20 de junio de 2016

This might be considered a very useful item to extend the versatility of an older but still quite functional HSF, if you an be certain it will fit your motherboard. There are myriad different board layouts that this might be used on, and the legs are quite large, so if you have any capacitors or other board elements too close to the mounting points, you probably won't be able to use it. I know I couldn't.
Like most mounting plates, you'll have to have access to the back of the mobo to install it, then wrestle with some fairly strong spring-loaded screws at each corner of the silver adapter that approximates holding the HSF in place. It's not an ideal setup, but it's probably the best they could do, considering it's a stopgap to adapt a HSF for a profile it wasn't designed for.
If you're lucky enough to have it actually fit your board and do what you need, then great. But all things considered, you'd probably be better served buying a newer HSF than throwing good money after bad.

3.0 de un máximo de 5 estrellas Might Not Fit On Your Motherboard 3 de mayo de 2009

The clip extends past the holes in the motherboard enough where it might not fit all motherboards. I have an EVGA 132-BL-E758-A1 X58 3-Way SLI Core i7 Motherboard and the clip is pushing against some components on the board. It is working fine, however I would not have gotten it if I knew it was going to be such a tight fit.

I recommend anyone considering this product check on forums to see how it fits on the motherboard they have (or are getting).

The Zelman Socket clip arrived in lightning speed and was well packaged, that's where the fun stopped. It wasn't that bad, however it took a little creativity on my part. I was starting my build with an Asus 1366 using a Zelman 9500A, so I needed this part to install the CPU fan. Mounting the bottom bracket with the washers was no sweat, everything lined up. Put on the thermal grease and began to mount the top. With everything seated I began to tighten the screws a little at a time going from opposite side (like removing the lugs from a tire). One of the four screws caught the threads, but would not tighten. It just kept spinning on the nut that was held in place by the plastic housing. My heart sank, I just took 2 vacation days from work to build and tweak this new build and thought I was going to get hung up by a darn nut that came pre stripped. After a few minutes of thinking I looked at the bracket that came with the Zelman 9500 fan, it had the same nut. I pried out the nut and swapped them out. Worked like a charm. Bad thing I had to remove the cooler and mess up my thermal paste, oh well. For being such an important part of a build I wish Zelman would use higher quality hardware or do a better job with quality control. Although this bracket is easier to install than the clip type used for the other MOBOs.

It holds the CPU cooler in there like a champ. If it doesn't fit your motherboard you either ordered the wrong part or need to read the directions. I fiddled with it for about 5 minutes before taking a glance at the directions (makes things quite a bit easier). Easy installation, held the huge copper super-structure problems so far!
